SOURCE: 1997 ply voy, replaced trans and now engine misses.

Check the gap of the crankshaft position sensor. You can buy a stick-on button for it at a Chrysler dealer or just eyeball it and get close. The sticker attaches to the end of the sensor, when you install it you push it all the way down to touch the tone ring and tighten the bolt. When you hit the key to start, it scrapes the sticker off and you have the correct gap. Or you can loosen it, push it all the way down and then lift it up about one millimeter or so. I hope this helps.

SOURCE: procedure for setting rocker arms and push rods

the simplist way to set rockers or cams is turn the engine until one valve is open and set the one on the same cylinder because it has to be closed

SOURCE: replace two bent push rods,

How did the pushrods become bent? You usually also will have VALVE damage, think about it... I suggest that you examine the timing chain. I suspect it has slipped, hence the push rod issue...

Is there anyway that i can fix bent push rods ?

There is no way to repair push rods. If they are bent they need to be replaced. However, the hundred-dollar question is "Why were they bent?" The only thing that will normally bend a push rod is if the pistons hit the valves and compressed and bent the rods. If the push rods are bent, you should go the extra distance to inspect the valves/pistons for damage as well.

2001 lincoln ls fuel pump working but not starting

Your description points to a bad crankshaft sensor. You should also have a check engine light on. This probably happened when cold snow hit a very warm sensor, and possibly cracked it. GOOD LUCK FRIEND.

I own a 1968 Imperial 440 V8. The intake valve push rod of the #1 cylinder bent and was causing knocking noise. I replaced it and the motor ran fine. The #1 cylinder started missing. Again it was a bent...

bent push rods come from improper movement of the rocker and valve
This can be from an incorrect length push rod-- some v8 engines run different lengths for inlet and exhaust
from rocker arm jamming on the shaft or rocker ball
hydraulic cam follower pumping up and jamming the valve spring to a solid block
bent valve stem above the valve guide
valve spring Colette moved or misplaced incorrect rocker for that valve-- some engines run different length rockers for inlet and exhaust
what to do-- if this engine was running all right for some time then the rocker can be omitted. if the problem has been occurring since the cold weather the the oil may be too thick and not allowing the follower to leak down properly
check the follower or replace it , change to a lighter viscosity oil for the duration of the cold weather
unless you have had a recent head change or other mechanical work done the problem will be in those areas.

My 2001 Daewoo Leganza with 108K miles on it suddenly stalled and would not restart immediately. A state trooper pushed me into a parking lot and the engine started but sounded like a washing machine. Got...

I had a similiar issue (2001 Leganza 112,000 miles) ran great then died. Broken timing belt also bent 2 exhaust valves. Bought the timing belt kit (includes water pump, tensioner and 2 pulleys), top end gasket set, 16 valve lifters (8 of mine had collapsed) and 2 valves on Ebay.I found all the procedure documentation posted on line andI did the job myself for about $325 in parts cost. Runs great now!

Moral of the story....change that damn timing belt at the recommended interval of 60,000 miles!

P.S. Your problem sound like broken teeth on the belt. I would suggest a timing belt replacment and then a compression check of a all cylinders to see if any valves were bent - Good Luck!

Ran the engine way too hard

Most of the time when this happends it has to do with valve train like broken valve spring, or bent valve , or even a bent push rod or colapes lifter, or rocker arm. At any rate i think your problem is in the valve train.

Recurring bent push rods/knocking engine- ideas?

I have seen this myself on a 3.4L (2.8, 3.1, 3.4, 3.5 & 3.9 are all mechanically the same engines). The valves may have a varnish build-up on their stems causing them to stick in the guides.
