There is no lock to put key into.

the lock must be there. Can be tapped with a little plastic cap, just under the door handle.

If u talk about casey, the lock is tapped near the handlebar,it has a small rectangular cap, must hold the handle open and from under pull the cap the key is dead, must put it close to the stearing column in order to start the car....full guide there.

Thanks so much - will try that in the morning. Will I be able to open the boot? I won't be driving it for another 3 months - does it make any difference when I get the battery going again?

Stand by alarm will drain your battery, better take out and recharge. Most car have a back up battery, can't tell u if the case.If the car is stored in the garage just let it open, even so it will drain a bit (stand by radio...etc).Large battery amp is better,Closed by key won't turn on the alarm so it can stay longer.Remove the battery connectors may help. After central lock, with the hood open, remove the battery connectors.Close the hood, later u will open the car by key,and reconect the battery.Could ask for radio pin...don't know much about the vw,but the rules have general lines wich u will adapt from car to car.

Thank you. But I don't really understand... the battery is flat. Can I just leave it in the car with no harm done? Does it make any difference if I get it charged now or in another 3 months?

Just leave the car with the battery disconected, but recharged, flat battery is hard to charge may be waste, another 3 month without cahrging definetely is not good.In order to lock your car (by key,not by remote) leave the hood open, close the car by key, disconect the battery, close the hood.Later u will open it by key, open the hood, connect the battery,Close and open by remote.Newer cars have strange behaviors when battery out, like:immo problem, radio code...etc,yet the harm is alaready done, the battery went dead.Time for a charge (by charger station) then leave it in the car(disconected) or if winter is on the way, somewhere with a better ambient temperature and enough ventilated (if the battery is on gel, does not matter,if is acid, may put out smells and acid vapor...must know a little bit about the batteries)

General:open the door with the key.If no key availabile, learn how to pick a lock.If the lock is taped, there are several ways to brake into the car.Hint:less invasive, jack the car from under the engine try to open the hood or inject power into conectors.

Based on all the info you have provided I think you need a professional to get involved here, I am not willing to "GUESS" what might be the issue or issues (more likely more than one).
Good luck

Battery went dead on car, car security system is in safe mode and want let car start, when you unlock the car alarm sounds and want do anything else, Battery has been replaced, can i reset the alarm if so...

The new battery should have reactivated the alarm? If this is a keyless entry, than your original code should work?

If it doesn't than you need to call the dealer, or seervice provider for your alarm system there has to be a reset code, or a new one has to be provided?

I would try your normal code first! If it works, your good, if not, your going to be on the phone! No body but the place you purchased your vehicle from or the Alarm system provider can give you that answer!

Kind Regards!

I have a 2003 Vw Jetta Gt. My keyless entry remote stopped working a couple of days ago. I have 2 so I tried to use the other one but it didn't work either. I changed the batteries in both and I also...

KEY WORDS to search for are

or "keyless+module"

I only got hits back from eBay (& AMAZON)...
which would indicate this is a fairly ROBUST part...
(TYPICALLY: really popular parts = high failure rate).
((in my opinion))

No direct
(part number) hits...!!

Look here... Appears to be inside the center console
(surmised without proper documentation)

Looks like
