It will not go off by itself,you will need to reset it by connecting to a diagnostic tool.Once cleared if there is any other problem then it will trigger the check engine light again.Hope this helps..

3.3l engine. What are the probable causes of DTC P1495?

answer courtesy of engine codes .com Engine-Codes OBDII Code List P1495 Dodge
P1495 Dodge P1495 Dodge - EVAP Leak Detection Pump Solenoid Circuit Condition 3 ' Add Comment Possible causes
- Faulty Leak Detection Pump (LDP)
- Leak Detection Pump (LDP) harness is open or shorted
- Leak Detection Pump (LDP) poor electrical connection
What does this mean? When is the code detected?
Malfunction is detected when the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) detected the pump solenoid did not change status when activated,
Possible symptoms
- Engine Light ON (or Service Engine Soon Warning Light)
- Possible a noticeable fuel odor caused by the release of fuel vapors
P1495 Dodge Description
The Evaporative emissions system is design to prevent the escape of fuel vapors from the fuel system. Leaks in the system, ca allow vapors to escape into the atmosphere. The leak detection system tests for EVAP system leaks and blockage.
During the self-diagnostics, the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) first checks the Leak Detection Pump (LDP) for electrical and mechanical faults. If the first checks pass, the PCM then uses the LDP to seal the vent valve and pump air into the system to pressurize it. If a leak is present, the PCM will continue pumping the LDP to replace the air that leaks out. The PCM determines the size of the leak based on how fast/long it must pump the LDP as it tries to maintain pressure in the system.

What is a P2404 code mean from a suzuki sx4

Trouble Code: P2404 (2.0L L4 VIN 5 Automatic CVT)
Evaporative Emission System Leak Detection Pump Sense Circuit Range / Performance
Number of Trips to Set Code: 1
Trouble Code Conditions:
EVAP vent valve stuck open: EVAP leak check pressure is lower than -0.14 kPa even if EVAP vent valve is operated from OFF (OPEN) to ON (CLOSE) with EVAP leak detection pump ON. EVAP vent valve stuck closed: EVAP leak check pressure is unstable (difference between maximum and minimum is 0.36 kPa or more) when EVAP vent valve is OFF (OPEN) with EVAP leak detection pump ON. EVAP leak detection pump stuck OFF: EVAP leak check pressure is higher than -0.14 kPa even if EVAP leak detection pump is ON. EVAP leak detection pump flow high: Reference pressure of EVAP leak check pressure is lower than specified value (depending on BARO) EVAP leak detection pump flow Low: Reference pressure of EVAP leak check pressure is higher than specified value (depending on BARO).
Possible Causes:
  • EVAP leak detection pump (in EVAP leak check module) and/or its circuit
  • EVAP vent valve (in EVAP leak check module) and/or its circuit
  • EVAP leak check module and/or its circuit
  • ECM

Check engine light stays on

code p0460 refers to fuel tank level sensor--circuit malfunction===causes ---wiring---fuel tank level sensor---ECM. However in the Volvo section there is a p1446 code that refers to evaporative emission (EVAP) leak detection pump---signal malfunction====causes wiring--poor connection---EVAP leak detection pump.
Go back to who read the codes and ensure that the right code was told to you.l

I have a 1998 v 6 dodge dakota sport with a p1495 trouble code how do i fix it

DTC P1495 - Leak Detection Pump Solenoid Circuit

WHEN MONITORED: Immediately after a cold start, with battery/ambient temperature between 4.4 °C (40 °F) . F and 32 °C (90 °F) . Coolant temperature within -12 °C (10 °F) of battery/ambient

SET CONDITION: The state of the solenoid circuit does not match the PCM's desired state.

POSSIBLE CAUSES:
* Wiring Harness Intermittent
* Leak Detection Pump
* Fused Ignition Switch Output
* LDP Solenoid Control Circuit Shorted To Ground
* LDP Solenoid Control Circuit Open
* PCM

Leak Detection Pump System
The evaporative emission system is designed to prevent the escape of fuel vapors from the fuel system. Leaks in the system, even small ones, can allow fuel vapors to escape into the atmosphere. Government regulations require on-board testing to make sure that the evaporative (EVAP) system is functioning properly. The leak detection system tests for EVAP system leaks and blockage. It also performs self-diagnostics. During self-diagnostics, the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) first checks the Leak Detection Pump (LDP) for electrical and mechanical faults.

SYMPTOM: P1490-LOW SPEED FAN CONTROL RELAY CIRCUIT
WHEN MONITORED: With the ignition ON. Battery voltage greater than 10 volts .

SET CONDITION: An open or shorted circuit is detected in the radiator fan relay control circuit.

POSSIBLE CAUSES:
* Low Speed Radiator Fan Relay Intermittent Operation
* Intermittent Condition
* Fused Ignition Switch Output Circuit
* Low Speed Radiator Fan Relay Resistance
* Low Speed Radiator Fan Relay Control Circuit Open
* Low Speed Radiator Fan Relay Control Circuit Short To Ground
* PCM

Notes
The Transmission/Transaxle Controller monitors the malfunction of sensors and actuators relating to Transmission/Transaxle Control. If any malfunction is detected, they inform the PCM by sending a signal - By illuminating the MIL and by setting the P0700 code.

P0700 means that a code has been set in the Transmission/Transaxle Controller. If P0700 is present, check for Transmission/Transaxle codes.

Hope helps (remember comment and rated this).

After timing belt check light is on. code p0303 and p0304 why?

the P0303 code is for cyclinder #3 possible causes: -defective spark plugs, ignition cables, ignition coil. or flywheel/pulse wheel. -blocked/leaking injector -uneven compression -leakage between the cooling system and cyclimder moisture,flashover in the ignition system on HT side intermittent open-circuit, intermittent short circuit to tje ground,intermittent short circuit to the voltage supply, contact resistance or loose connector in the ignition system low-tension side, in the injector circuit or fuel pump circuit -fuel stoppage -water in the sparl plug wells - contaminated fuel or incorrect fuel type -repeated cold starting where the engine coolant temperature (ECT) has not reached nomal operating temperature between start P0304 is for cyclinder #4. Hope this can help you, please put some rating
