yes when you make the absoulute full turn your hearing like a hissing noise this is normal if this is what your hearing then problem solved but if has a different sound than that like a rubbing sound then check the fender wells to see is there is any rub marks this can be corrected by putting in a turn stopper

Check your power steering fluid level, and system for leaks. May be a bad p/s pump as well. Hope this helps

SOURCE: Groaning while turning left

There are a few stabilizer bars under this truck that have rubber bushings that hold them in place. This may be where the noise is coming from. Have them checked and replaced if worn. They will not move unless there is a large amount of force. If they move with ease then they are bad. Hope this helps. Good luck.

power steering pump might need more oil (whining noise). generally power steer pumps take automatic transmission fluid. there should be a reservoir above the pump only fill this a little bit then start the car and turn left to right and recheck level. fluid should only be low if there is a leak at power steer pump/lines or steering rack,

Could be low on oil, or need a shot of additive if it is a limited slip differential.
The noise may be the clutches in the diff or one of the axle bearings.

Vibration coming from front axle when coming to a stop it gets worse, brakes are good , maybe cv joint?

if you feel the pulsation in brake pedal when stopping. its a warped brake rotor thats causing it. for bad cv joint symtoms--- Unusual noises when making turns. As you are driving on the road and you make a turn at the corner, if you start hearing unusual sounds coming from under the car then this is one of the symptoms of a bad CV joint. These noises will sound like something is clicking beneath the car every time you turn the steering wheel. Evidence of a damaged boot. Steering wheel feels heavier. The steering wheel will start to feel tighter and heavier and you can hardly make simple turns to the left or right. In severe cases you might even feel heavy vibrations like you are driving down a rocky road.

I have a 2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee. When I turn my steering wheel to the left it makes a air compressed noise. What could this be? It only does it when it turns left.

You don't say how far you are turning the wheel. If you are turning it all the way, you will hear the power steering pump bypassing. It does that so it won't blow hoses. If you hear it at a slight turn, You may have air in the line and needs to be bled. That should only happen when the pump is replaced.

I think you may have a problem with your electric assisted power steering motor. Is the loss in power only when your are making sharp turns to the right or left?
Do you hear any load noises or squeling sounds?
You should have it inspected, Don't want you to lose control while driving.

This is most likely the power steering pump that you hear. Check the fluid level to be sure it is full. If the fluid is full then the pump is going out. Hope this helps. Good luck.
