Porsche starts at 1100 rpm then drops to 400 on its own climbs back up to 1100 an runs smooth, when throttling the engine bogs down and almost dies. It will go up if gas is applied slowly. Ideas? You have a large intake leak, un metered air leaking after your maf. Grab a can of intake cleaner, start your cAr and start spraying your intake and any vacuum lines. Any change in idle activity is where I would double check

SOURCE: 1996 VW Jetta with 2.0 engine. Dies when slowing from high RPM

I would check the EGR if your car has one it could be sticky, A Renault laguna we had did the same thing, died when letting it down to idle but would
recover, or when it died it would run fine on idle when restarted.
EGR was sticking on it. Vacuum lines could also be an issue.. EGR need vacum to work properly. Trotle body could also be worn, but normally that gives you an uneven idle.

Cranks over. But wont start.

Pull the injectors and have them tested for electronic continuity and spray pattern as the needle may be rusted up or the coils in the injectors corroded away for the long period of no use. Regardless of what engine you have if you have spark at the correct time --compression --fuel then you must have go in the engine . Continuing to run will depend on the make and design as the other variables come into play.
