Question about Cars & Trucks

1 Answer

My '05 Buick Rendezvous runs smooth and starts fine but bogs down during acceleration. Hold the accelerator to the floor and the motor revs but won't go. Acts like it's in neutral. No engine codes. Could it be a transmission issue? Changed fuel filter, mass air flow sensor and fuel pressure regulator-no change. Fuel pump checks out ok. Can anybody help???? Fixed the problem-rear wheel hub went bad and replaced. Acceleration problem went away and has been fine since. The ABS in the hub must have been sending bad signals to the computer to affect the throttle control. Make sense ?

I have a 05 buick rendezvous, it starts up with no problem, i can get to 55-60mph with no issue, but once i try to accelerate past that speed the car bogs down and putters then backfires

run the fault codes
check for a blocked cat converter ( I would check this first as it is most likely)
check for EVAP system problem not allowing the system for venting air into the tank to maintain a regular fuel supply to the pump

How many miles are on it? Could be timing chain wear.

My 05 rendezvous was doing the same thing. If you have an evap solenoid on your model, it may need replacing. Fixed mine right up.

No power 3.1

possibly a clogged catalytic converter, it will bog down when you step on the gas, common issue with GM 3.1.

I have to push the accelerator almost to the floor to get it to go in to passing gear. Motor feels weak and takes a long time to gain speed. car feels heave but the motor runs very smooth

Actually, this is normal. To 'kick down' the gear in the transmission, you should go WOT or wide open throttle.

4 cylinder motors seem to feel weaker than v-8's and are tuned to the transmission to rev higher to accomplish a certain acceleration point.

Good luck on driving.

My 2007 buick rendezvous has a shudder starting at 40 mph and it smooths out at about 55-60 mph. this occurs with moderate acceleration. the tires and rims are fine had them checked out extensively. seems...

It's a step-by-step process. If it only happens on acceleration then it is a drivetrain problem. Start verifying from the outer cv joints and go in from there
