depends on how well the car has been maintained and what country you are in. A 745 is a relatively complex car, but if maintained well basic reliability should be OK. You may encounter issues with electronic/elecrical items over time just due to the number of them. Not sure if you mean value in terms of value for money or resale. Depends on country but normally these high end cars devalue quickly and represent good value for money in terms of features and comfort for the price. Resale wont be great because as the car ages people become more and more afraid of expensive maintenance issues (even if a lot of that is only in their imagination). A classic car may hold its value more.
This is usually caused by the crankcase vent valves leaking air. These valves are round and sit on top of the front of each valve cover at the front. The diaphragm leaks and causes a vacuum leak and the car runs rough.
Change the DME and make the dealer do it before your warranty is up. They will try to re-program it but you should not submit demand a new one out of the box from BMW
The brake pads have sensors in them, when the pads get worn down to the sensor the light comes on letting you know its time to replace. this happens well before the pads are completely gone to reduce wear on the rotors. You should have the brakes replaced and the sensor also.
