Bad chassis ground. The wire or braided strap runs from the engine to the firewall or inner fender. Easy replacement.

SOURCE: Dome Light

If it's like my 96 Ram, the dome light and headlights share a relay switch. My dome light turned on with only my parking lights on and the replacing the relay took care of it.

SOURCE: Flickering lights, gauges and radio

Sounds like a wiring issue, it's actually hard to diagnose without being there, with that many things happening all at once I'd guess a possible problem with the underhood relay/fuse box. On older vans they sometimes short out inside. To be sure you might want to go to your dealer, for about an hours labour they should be able to diagnose it properly. They will only go as far as you tell them to.
If I can be of any more help please ask..
Good Luck.

I have headlights but no power inside or to start

Lights will work with a weak battery. Try jumping the truck with another vehicle first. If it starts watch your volt meter and see if it charges up. If you have a indicator light instead watch that. If it flickers the diode is bad in the altenator. If the gauge is present and not charging the altentor is bad. Chack all wiring to the battery and the altenator for loose or corroded connections first. It maybe an easy fix

mcdevito75 here, Sounds like the regulator inside the alternator, re test altenator with the headlights off, then on, any lower reading from the altenator with the headlights on, could mean a bad regulator, in the altenator, all 1 unit altenator gets changed.
