Question about Mazda Cars & Trucks

1 Answer

Hi I have a mazda eunos 30x coupe automatic 1.8l K8 DOHC that has a problem with fowling plugs almost every 100km (originally thought it might be wrong temperature plugs but i got a new set and there correct, my first set did about 800km then fowled), surging, excessive fuel consumption(160 km half a tank), extremely poor acceleration, backfiring, basically just being a B***H. i have replaced the timing belt/tensioners/water pump/plugs/leads/distributor cap/air cleaner element/fuel filter/ auto filter / oil filter as the car was neglected when i picked it up. also there is a sensor attached to what appears to be a thermostat housing at the top radiator house where the radiator cap is that has no corresponding plug in the harness that i can find. If you guys have any ideas that could fix this problem it would be greatly appreciated as it is doing my head in and i am hoping to avoid taking it to an auto electrician.

Really not enough info on the the car like what year it is and how many miles are on the car and More importantly, Did the timing belt break on you or did you replace it at the 80K miles as most cars Should..

But,, I would ...
1 Check Compression for each Spark plug,
2 Check the EGR valve, "If stuck open or closed you get a lot of problems..
3, Also sounds like you might have some what or an Vacuum leak..

However Something sounds wrong Since I would assume that a shop did the Timing belt/chine in the first place, Your timing belt Could have pit in 180 degrees off, Your car will run and drive But it will 95% of the time Give the problems your having.. Good luck.. BCB...

Do you remember by chance speed vs RPM before & after work done? for example : before was 2000 RPM @ 60 MPH. Now 2200 RPM @ 60MPH ? May be coincidence, and transmission not shifting to overdrive or high gear.

I have mazda eunos 30X engine turns over wont start

I do not know much about cars but I once had a similar problem. There is a plug that controls the fuel going to the pump. It is usually housed under the dashboard. Have you checked that? I cannot remember the name of it. Good luck.

What size motor does a 1993 mazda mx3 have?

The MX-3 came with three engine options: a 1.5 L I4 (only found in the Autozam AZ-3), a 1.6 L I4 and a 1.8 L V6. The 1.6 L was available in two versions, an 88 hp (66 kW) SOHC/16-valve B6-ME unit which powered 1992 and 1993 models, or a 106 hp (79 kW) DOHC/16-valve B6-D unit which was found in 1994 and later models. The Japanese market DOHC/16-valve B5-ZE produced 115-120 PS (85-88 kW) (lower powered in automatic versions) and the most powerful DOHC 24-valve V6 K8-DE produced 140 PS (103 kW) at 7,000 rpm (Japan) and 130 hp in North American models. All were available with a 5-speed manual or an optional 4-speed automatic transmission, depending upon the market.

Mazda eunos 1993 30x coolant overflow

The problem may be the radiator cap and sealed so that when the system pressure is passed into the coolant reserve tank is the first thing you have to revisar. Thanks
