First Check fuse.. I'm not sure if you have Electronic Speed setup or the older Cable Speed gauge,
As for air pump, Fuse might run both the speed sensor and air pump because they are right next to each other, Did you get a Alarm just added? maybe they Moved the ground strap off?? you need alot more info for more Ideas that are easy to try, BUT saying, When did it stop? Big bump/ After tune up/ any service work before it stopped.. You have to help out here a little more for ideas.. Sorry But This will help you get a Much better answer.. BCB...

I am having the same problem. I replaced the speed sensor on the rear diff. and the problem went away but when i started it the next day the problem came back. If you figure it out let me know.
