Please post year make and model this problem does occur often with ford window motors and a few of the popular imports. The window regulator usually is bent or damaged also but is inexpensive to replace. If you haven't worked with power windows and their related parts before caution must be taken or severe injury and possible loss of limbs can occur if you get caught in a moving window regulator.

SOURCE: 1990 toyota four runner window will not go down but I can hear motor running

ok, you will need a flat head and phillips screwdriver, and a 10 mm socket and ratchet, climb inside and into the back, remove the panel covering the "guts" with the flat head, gently pry with it under that carpeting, it has the push clips. Remove and set aside, use the phillips and remove the next cover, don't lose any screws and set aside. gently pull the plastic windshield, you will be putting it back on, so try not to tear it. you will now see the entire motor assembly. remove the 4 bolts and get the arms to slide off the window by moving the assembly sideways until the arms come free, and remove from the door, disconnect the electrical plugs locking cables and slowly slide the window down manually. Pull the 2 door release cables towards each other and the door will swing open, with no motor assembly and the window down. change your light bulbs and repair or replace any broken parts, I suggest replacing the assembly if this is the case, since you hear the motor whining and nothing is happening

Anyone know how to remove top window glass for E240 or W210?

If you are talking about the roof glass, look
along runners with window back and open.Phillips
or cross head screws should be on both runners.
These all need to be taken out,but mark things on
a diagram when removing, and stick down on it so
they do not roll off.The glass position can be marked
with chalk so you know exactly where it goes, otherwise
it will take for ever to get back in.

Canter window wont wind up

this happens if the window goes down too far because the stop has moved or broken off. Try refitting it as there should ne no parts necessary as the rollers are either "v" shaped or will run in a track. Make sure the window glass channels are correctly adjusted after fitting the roller back in and check for max down position

I have a 1998 Audi A6. the drivers' side window starts to go up, stops and then goes back down. Holding the window up by hand will stop it, but then it goes straight back down when you let go. What's...

its the "rollback"facility, its supossed to stop and rollback when some idiot has there fingers trapped in the window....to reset, lower window and spray runners with silicon, then put key in door and unlock/hold key over(all windows will go down).then lock/hold key over all windows will go up,this will reset the "rollback" settings.

try this, put the key in door and unlock/hold over key.windows will go down, then lock/hold over, windows will go up.this resets the windows auto trap mech.(kids fingers)if you still have a problem also try using silicon spray on the runners.NOT THE GLASS.....

Right rear window goes part way up and then goes back down?

The window will do this if it comes up against an obstruction. One of the window lifter guides could be broken causing the window to run skew. This would make it to tight in the runners and the motor would recognize this as an obstruction and wind the window down again. Have some one check the mechanism for damage.

2003 Yukon Denali window goes up slowly. Where

You can get away with just lubricating the window runners with silicon or graphite. Don't use oil base lubricant, oil breaks down rubber like the ones use on the window runners. I use silicon and with the spray tube from the can, spray it along the window runners on both side. Towards the front and back of the door, Roll down the window and where the glass runs down in to the door is the runners i am talking about and you should be able to spray along there with the tube and just clean the glass from any over spray. Good luck and this should help.

Window dropped in door

Hi there.

The inner door card is really simple to remove, its a matter of removing the screw around the door card, (bottom) and normally in the handle.

once removed you will see the problem, im guessing that the window as came off its "runners" which is simple enough to put back into its runners. basically slot back in.

Thanks Alot :)
