Most Fordpower seat - icon1.png products are designed so the seat belt latch by the center console moves with the seat. The bottom of the latch rides on the seat rail, and with time sometimes it builds up a little play on the rail. As the seat moves forward or back, the seat belt guide often tilts forward or back, just a bit, on the rail, and gets stuck. So you can move forward or back just a bit, but then it jams and you can hear the motor, but can go no further.

The long term fix is to remove the seat, disassemble the seat belt guide and rail, and usually replace some parts.

But the short term solution is often to simply hold on to the seat belt latch and rock it forward and away from the seat as you try to go forward or back. Or, sometimes it works best to rock it backwards and away from the seat as you try to move forward or back. It all depends on which way it is binding.

There's no guarantee that it won't jam again if you move it all the way back or forward, but once you find the right position to hold the seat latch in while moving the seat, you should be able to re-adjust it where you need it to be.

Depending upon the size of the "something", it could be under the seat or under the console. To get the seat working, go to the UNDER-HOOD FUSE/RELAY BOX and check 20A POWER SEAT FUSE 27. While you are at it, check 20A POWER SEAT HEIGHT FUSE 31.

Power seat control not working to move seat back. works to move seat forward and the other power controls work for seat back postion and such. how can i manually move the seat back. once it is back it can...

that is easy find the motor under the seat that moves the seat back and forth take and neg wire and a hot wire carefully touch the twoo prongs going to the motor after diconnecting the plug going into the motor. it sould go forward one way and croos the wires to get it to go the other way if this works get a new switch and have a working seat.

Power seat controls are not working

First of all, check under the seat where there should be a cluster of wires. Sometimes if the power seat is used alot by sliding back and forth, without this cluster of wires being secured, occassionally a wire can get cut.
The runners on which the seats move are metal and cut wires easily. Secondly, the plug also located under the seat could have gotten wet or accidently came unplugged from someones feet in the back or objects and debris.
Another possibilty that will keep power seats from working is the power seat motor. In most cases, this small electrical motor is located directly under the power seat control panel or very nearby
Also you could check the fuses in the fuse box, located directly above the driver's left foot area. Power seats are usually on thier own circuit which means if the power seat fuse is blown, that is the only malfunction that will be noticed, versus other circuit which have many power items on one circuit. For example dash light, clock, and temp lights don't work, one fuse will fix the problem. Power seats operate on one fuse circuit which could have one or more fuses depending on the options of your seats. E.g. heated or not, lumbar, etc.

If it is power seat electric motor is faulty. For mechanical you need to spray the rails under the seat. There is the grease at any autostore or Walmart for unscrewing rusty bolts. It will be helpfull. After you do thet push seat forward and back afterwards.
It will go
Good Luck
