Check your outer door window seals. If they are worn water will leak through the door to the floor.

SOURCE: 2003 BMW 530i water in rear floor after it rains

you are no doubt correct about the cause of the problem ,but the soloution?? well if the water can gat in then let it out ??stupid ?? i know but what i would do to prevent rust and corrosion which is a inspection failure then i woul drill two 1/2 inch holes either side of the rear floor well on the outside so whatever way car is parked on camber of road the water can run out

take off the inner door skin and check the polythene liner is fixed/sealed all round, as any gaps will allow water to pass into the car.....

SOURCE: 2001 pont convert. top seal

Did you get this fixed yet? Mine does the same and I was told that there is a gasket that sits behing the hatch window and when it wears you have to replace.I was told that you can fix it yourself by applying a putty type substance around behind teh glass to seal out water. I haven't did anything yet.

Rain water filling up floor board on driver's side of 05 Chrysler 300 while sitting in driveway; appears to be coming through door. Could it be a floor plug missing and how would the would water...

Most newer cars don't have drain plugs in the floor. So it must either be your window does not close tightly or the rubber seal is completely gone around the lower door.

Are you getting enough rain that it reaches the floor board of your car?

I have a 1997 528I and we just had a ton of rain dumped on us and I noticed that the floor behind the driver's side was soaking wet! I'm sure my window was up and there were no traces of water coming down...

It is a missing Drain plug stopper along the bottom of the car or a bad door or trunk seal. I had this problem with a Chrysler once. Turned out to be a Drain plug in the trunk area being missing.

If you have a wet seat then it is likely defective weather stripping around the window.

Try this. If the floor is dry, then it rains and the floor remains dry, only gets wet after a drive in the rain or on wet streets, you may have a hole somewhere.

Check for holes from missing rubber grommets or holes in the floorboard or firewall from rust. Check for any rust holes or missing rubber grommets under the car or on the firewall, anywhere water can splash up into the vehicle from driving in rain or running through puddles..

Check wet spots along the carpeting all the way up under the dash, if the wet spot is higher than the floor itself, you could be getting the water from splashing through puddles.

Any holes under the car or in the fenderwell even up on the firewall can cause this problem.

First check for any obvious signs of rust, if none are found then look for missing or defective rubber grommets.

Water inside car

I had a similar leak problem with a Bonneville. We had to dry the car out thouroughly , and went to a self car wash to direct water pressure at seams and gaskets to see where fluid entered vehicle. You might have to remove some interior parts....door panel...back seat....you need to verify how much gets wet....ie....just the floor?. Ours was a bad gasket/ seal on the firewall ....water was dripping on the ECM. took a whole day of waiting after washing....then drips would start on the vehicle interior.
Hope that helps ....Good Luck !
