Fuel shut off silenoid has no power

Hi Cody, As you have power to one side, the other will be the ground connection. Take out the solenoid and us a battery to check its operation. You may like to use the dis guarded one first, I'm suggesting this because it seems the problem may have been a bad earth connection. Once you prove the operation check the earth on the vehicle. Regards John

Replaced fender silenoid and ignition switch under dash. Even after unhooking all terminals from starter, the positive cable from battery is bubbling hot. There is a faint clicking coming from under...

Tough one. First thing I would do is replace your cables, signal wire from ignition switch to solenoid included. Sounds like a short somewhere.

92 dodge dakota 3.9 4x4 code 23,32 where is the ambiant air temp sensor for this truck located

This is a test of the sensor only. A complete test of the circuit requires the DRBII scan tool, or equivalent.
Unplug the wiring harness connector from the intake manifold temperature sensor.

  1. Using an input impedance volt-ohmmeter, measure across the terminals to test the resistance. The resistance should be less than 1340 ohms with the engine warm. Replace the sensor if not within specifications.
  2. Test the resistance of the wire harness. Do this between the engine controller wire harness connector terminal 21 and the connector terminal. Also check between terminal 4 to the sensor connector terminal. Repair the wire harness as necessary if the resistance is greater than 1 ohm.

code 32 is related to the EGR circuit. Remove the EGR valve from the intake and check for a clogged port(s). If ports are ok, replace the EGR. Check for vacuum leaks on all hoses and connections as well as the air intake tube. Sometimes the air intake tubes crack in between the ribs on on the ends where the clamps are, causing vacuum leaks.

Where is the egr silenoid on a 2006 cts 3.8l

EGR Vacuum Solenoid Operation:00604_evs31_egr_vacuum_soleniod.jpgA control solenoid that, when signaled, energizes the vacuum to open the EGR valve. --- Just look for the vacuum lines leading from the egr to the egr solenoid, and that's how one would go about finding the solenoid that controls the egr valve. Good luck on this repair.

Silenod on starter ****, causing battery to drain

Just remove the negative cable from the battery, and remove the wires from the starter and replace. When putting the wires back on the starter just make sure the wires are not touching anything else but the terminal that it is bolted to. Then put the negative batt. cable back on.

I have a honda civic lx 1998 I need to know what the troubleshooting code P1399 means? The engine number is D16Y7

Get your self a EGR valve it is sticking or the EGR port is blocked i can tell you how to test it you have a volt meter but i am 100% THAT WHAT IT IS
Code P1399 is a pending misfire code.

1. Check EGR position sensor voltage on the White/Black wire at idle - look for 1.1 - 1.2 volts with the EGR valve closed. If the EGR position sensor voltage is higher than 1.2 volts, the EGR valve is stuck open.

2. Can unplug the EGR valve and apply power to the terminal on the EGR valve that the Pink wire would normally go to and ground the terminal on the EGR valve that the Black wire would normally go to and see if the engine stalls at warm idle.
