I have a 94 buick regal gs coupe with power locks and remote keyless entry. The drivers door will lock using electric switch, remote and manual lock. The only way to get it unlocked from the inside is with the manual slide lock. From the outside only the key will unlock it. We replaced the actuator, control panel, and latch assembly. Still I have the same problem. Can anyone offer a solution? Pretty please and Thank you.
I can hear it attempting (I think. its hard to hear because the other door is unlocking) it sounds like a single click.I can hear it attempting (I think. its hard to hear because the other door is unlocking) it sounds like a single click.

Re: Driver side power lock will lock but not unlock
The only way to really see the problem is by removing the door trim panel. This will allow you to see if is the actuator is moving, and how far, along with noting any interference of lock linkage movement. Hope this helps.

Do they work with the key fob, do you have one of those? They lock when put into gear an unlock when put into park because the BCM - body control module does that .
Door Lock System Components
The power door lock system consists of the following components:
• Driver door lock switch
• Front Passenger door lock switch
• Body Control Module (BCM)
• Relays: Driver Door Unlock -- on vehicles with RFA, Door Unlock, and Door Lock
• Door Lock fuse 15A
Door Lock System Controls
The power door lock system can be controlled by any of the following:
• A power door lock switch activation
• A keyless entry command -- if equipped with keyless entry
Driver and Passenger Door Lock Operation
When any of the door lock switches is pressed to the lock position, the BCM door lock/unlock signal circuit changes from an idle voltage of ~3.4 volts to 0.0 volts generating a lock command. The BCM then applies battery positive voltage to the Door Lock Relay, which in turn applies battery positive voltage to the Door Lock Actuator lock circuit of all the Door Lock Actuators. Since the Door Lock Actuator unlock circuits are held to ground through the resting Door Unlock Relay(s), the actuators execute the lock command, locking the doors.
The lock function can also be accomplished by the BCM having received a keyless entry door lock command, if the vehicle is equipped with keyless entry.
Driver and Passenger Door Unlock Operation
When any of the door lock switches is pressed to the unlock position, the BCM door lock/unlock signal circuit changes from an idle voltage of ~3.4 volts to ~1.7 volts generating an unlock command. The BCM then applies battery positive voltage to the Door Unlock Relay and the Driver Door Unlock Relay when equipped with keyless entry, the relay(s) in turn apply battery positive voltage to the Door Lock Actuator unlock circuit of all the Door Lock Actuators. Since the Door Lock Actuator lock circuits are held to ground through the resting Door Lock Relay, the actuators execute the unlock command, unlocking the doors.
The unlock function can also be accomplished by the BCM having received a keyless entry door unlock command, if the vehicle is equipped with keyless entry. Keyless entry personalization allows the driver door to be unlocked individually before unlocking the passenger doors. When this feature is active, the BCM will require a repeated unlock command to unlock the passenger doors.
Automatic Door Lock/Unlock
The automatic door lock/unlock function is a Vehicle Personalization feature with the following four programmable modes of operation:
The automatic door lock feature is disabled.
All of the doors lock when the vehicle is shifted out of Park with the ignition ON.
All of the doors lock when the vehicle is shifted out of Park with the ignition ON, and all of the doors Unlock when the vehicle is shifted into Park.
All of the doors lock when the vehicle is shifted out of Park with the ignition ON, and only the driver door Unlocks when the vehicle is shifted into Park.
For information on programming the automatic door locks, refer to Vehicle Personalization in Personalization.
The remote anti-theft personality (RAP) module controls the keyless entry, and computer operated locks systems.
The GEM/CTM controls the following features:
wiper/washer (front/rear)
warning chime
battery saver
illuminated entry and courtesy lamps
driver one touch down power window (GEM only)
accessory delay
4 wheel drive (GEM only)
For keyless entry concerns, refer to Section 501-14B .
Keyless Entry
The keyless entry system components consist of the following:
driver unlock relay (if equipped with two step unlocking)
all unlock relay
all lock relay
keyless entry keypad (14A626)
The electronic door lock system has three main components: the remote anti-theft personality (RAP) module, attached to the rear left hand quarter panel, the three-button (hand held) keyless entry remote transmitter (15K601), and the keyless entry keypad (14A626) on the driver side door.
The door locks are controlled by the RAP module through three external relays: the driver unlock relay (if equipped with two step unlocking), the all unlock relay, and the all lock relay. These relays are located in the relay box on the LH rear quarter panel.
The keyless entry remote transmitter initiates the following electronic door lock system functions:
Unlocks the driver door (if equipped with two step unlocking).
Unlocks all doors.
Locks all doors.
Enables the panic alarm.
Issues the interior lamps on (when unlocking) and off (when locking) commands to the generic electronic module (GEM).
Sounds the horn (13832) once when LOCK on keyless entry remote transmitter is pressed twice, and doors are closed.
Sounds the horn twice when LOCK on the keyless entry remote transmitter is pressed twice, and any door or the liftgate window is ajar.
Allows up to four keyless entry remote transmitters to be programmed.
The order that the transmitters are programmed into the module will set the memory seat to the corresponding position when the driver door is unlocked with the transmitter.
NOTE: The remote entry features will not function when the ignition switch (11572) is in the RUN or ACC position.
The keyless entry remote transmitters are reprogrammable and must be set at the same time.
To confirm that the doors have been locked and that the anti-theft system has armed, press the LOCK button again, within five seconds of the first press. The horn will sound once if the doors have locked and all doors are closed.
Inspection and Verification
Verify the customer concern by operating the electronic door lock control system.
Visually inspect for obvious signs of mechanical and electrical damage; refer to the following chart:
If the concern remains after the inspection, connect the scan tool to the data link connector (DLC) located beneath the instrument panel and select the vehicle to be tested from the scan tool menu. If scan tool does not communicate with the vehicle:
check that the program card is properly installed.
check the connections to the vehicle.
check the ignition switch position.
If scan tool still does not communicate with the vehicle, refer to the scan tool manual.
Perform the DATA LINK DIAGNOSTIC TEST. If the scan tool responds with:
CKT914, CKT915 or CKT70 = ALL ECUS NO RESP/NOT EQUIP, refer to Section 418-00 .
NO RESP/NOT EQUIP for RAP, go to Pinpoint Test A.
NO RESP/NOT EQUIP for GEM/CTM, go to Pinpoint Test G.
SYSTEM PASSED, retrieve and record the continuous diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs), erase the continuous DTCs and perform self-test diagnostics for the RAP.
If the DTCs retrieved are related to the concern, go to RAP Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Index or GEM/CTM Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Index to continue diagnostics.
If no DTCs related to the concern are retrieved, proceed to Symptom Chart to continue diagnostics. Taking your vehicle to a qualified repair shop mite be your best bet , one that has a scanner that can read these code

Remove the door panel and unplug the connector to the door actuator. Probe the contacts with a voltmeter set on DC volts. Then operate the lock/unlock switch. You should see the voltage toggle from +12 volts to -12 volts. If you do, then the wiring, switch and connector are good and you have a bad actuator. Be prepared to start replacing all of them because they all operate the same number of cycles.
The keyless entry system is controlled by the (GEM) - generic electronic module .
Keyless Entry
The electronic door lock system has two main components:
generic electronic module (GEM)(14B204)
keyless entry remote transmitter (15K601)
NOTE: Battery power and ground must be remove before disconnecting the GEM connectors to avoid setting false codes.
Power Locks Operation
The power locks feature allows the customer to lock and unlock the doors via momentary switches located on the driver and passenger door. When the GEM detects a momentary press of the driver or passenger lock button, the GEM will supply power to the driver or passenger lock actuators for approximately 250 ms from relays internal to the GEM. When the GEM detects a momentary press of the driver or passenger unlock button, the GEM will supply power to the driver or passenger unlock actuators for approximately 250 ms from relays internal to the GEM.
Remote Keyless Entry Door Locks Operation
The remote entry feature allows the customer to unlock the driver door, unlock all doors, and lock all doors using a valid remote transmitter as long as the ignition switch is not in RUN or START. The driver door is unlocked whenever the GEM detects a valid remote transmitter unlock transmission. All the doors are unlocked when the GEM detects a second valid remote transmitter unlock transmission within three seconds of the first transmission. All the doors are locked when the GEM detects a valid remote transmitter lock transmission. If the GEM detects a second valid remote transmitter lock transmission within three seconds of the first transmission, the doors will lock again, the horn will sound for 20 ms and the parking lamps will flash for 200 ms to indicate the doors are locked. If the GEM detects the driver or passenger door is ajar during the second lock transmission, the doors are locked again and the horn is sounded twice. If the GEM detects a valid remote transmitter lock transmission within three seconds of detecting a valid remote transmitter unlock transmission, the GEM will lock all the doors

Programming -Keyless Entry Remote Transmitter
NOTE: All keyless entry remote transmitters (15K601) must be programmed at the same time. NOTE: All previous transmitter identification codes (TIC's) will be erased when programming mode is entered. NOTE: To program (or reprogram) the keyless entry remote transmitters into the generic electronic module (GEM)(14B204), perform the following steps.
Turn the ignition from OFF to RUN eight times within 10 seconds, ending in RUN. If the GEM has successfully entered program mode, it will lock and unlock all the doors.
NOTE: The first TIC must be entered within 7.5 seconds of entering the program mode and additional TICs must be entered within 7.5 seconds of the first TIC. The programming mode is exited whenever the timing constraints are not met.
Press any button on a keyless entry remote transmitter, and the doors will lock and then unlock to confirm that each keyless entry remote transmitter has been programmed.
If the door locks do not respond for any keyless entry remote transmitter, wait for several seconds and press the button again.
Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position, or wait up to five minutes after step 1, to exit program mode. If a keyless entry remote transmitter has been programmed (or reprogrammed), the GEM will lock and unlock all the doors one last time.
