Cruise control stopped working

We bought a 2005 Chevrolet Impala in August and a few days ago the cruise control stopped working. We checked the fuses and everything looks to be okay. After looking under the hood ... the lines look okay. Is there anything else we can check or are we going to have to take it in to be looked at? Thanks for your time :)

If the fuses are ok then i would say that there is a distruption between the cruise module vehicle speed sensor and the computer(ECM). unfortunately this is something only a qualified tech with diagnostic equipment can correct. i'm sure there are stored fault codes that the tech needs to check and reset. it's been my experience that oftyen times when this problem happens it has to do with the transmission control module which dictates how the engine and the transmission sync up to shift properly and your speed is measured through the transmission circuit thus the cruise control circuit is slaved to that.anymore questions feel free to contact me . just click my user tab on this site

2005 Impala cruise won't hold speed. The cruise seems to work kind of.

Check the linkage at the advance to se if it is broken. Some are by mechanical connection and others are by vacuum. If vacuum you have developed a leak and must replace the controler to make it work again.

2005 chevy trailblazer - no cruise control and brake lights only work when key is turned off

I would check the turn signal switch. The cruise and turn signal are on the same switch. The brake lights go through the switch before going to the brake lights. And the turn signals don't work with the ignition off.

My cruise control on my Chevy 2002 Impala will not work. Is it a fuse problem or other?

https://s3.postimg.org/kwm9a4n7n/cruise.jpg

Click on the link, part of cruise control circuit, you can see the fuses. Not only check the fuses, use a test lite to check voltage on fuse circuit, goes hot with key on.
Make sure the brake lites work?
Check applicable trouble codes relating to cruise control. There are other possible issues.

I have a 2005 Chevy Impala 3.4L. The cruise control quit working. The cruise control light on the dash will come on, but it will now engage. I have checked all the fuses. What would cause this?

It could be the cruise control unit (module) itself as these do burn out. A malfunctioning BCM (body control module) could also cause this. You should also check to find out if your 05 Impala has a recall as there are some defective models.

2005 Malibu Maxx cruise control won't turn on. Worked one day next day would not.

this could be a blown fuse(which you can check) or a mis-adjusted cruise cut out switch that works off of the brake switch.you may want to go to a shop that can check the cruise with a tool that has the capablilities to check cruise controls as it could be a switch or control unit that has gone bad.

My 2002 Impala is having electrical problems. The cruise control stopped working, the power locks makes clicking noises and sometimes will not work and the trunk opened on its own. What is wrong?

Could be a shorted out or damaged power door lock module. I had a 1990 Oldsmobile Cutlass Calais that had corrosion on the contacts of the module that when cleaned worked fine. Before that, the power door locks would lock the doors inexplicably.

For the cruise, I would check the fuse first.

Also, parts are probably still available for your car since it was made 8 years ago, which falls under the 10 year limit.
