What is the valve clearance for my 1990 courier 2.5 litre diesel ?

if it does not have hydraulic adjusters then .012" inlet hot and .014" exhaust hot. If it has hydraulic adjusters then the noise will be from worn rocker shafts and rocker bushes.

Carburetor

Probably same. Datsuns are famous for keeping the same carburetors (and other parts, as well) with only minor year to year modifications. My '79 Datsun pickup 620, right now has a carb from a '73 Datsun 620 parts truck, runs okay-for a hitachi.
Check ebay for new, remanufactured, or used- pretty sure they would have a lot of carbs for your car. The best place to buy new or remanned carburetors, especially for our older datsuns, is rockauto.com. Very nicely planned (and huge!)catalog, too, with easy access.
Don't know about your 280Z, but with the 620's 2.0Liter engine(L20B), weber carburetors are all the rage now for them. They are excellent carburetors and very reliable, even claim to increase mileage over stock, but for $250, I guess I'll have to motor on with the old hitachi a bit longer.

Cant find fuel filter location

Hi Horton, Are we dealing with a car using a carburetor and points and condenser ignition system? If so the fuel filter is usually fitted in the engine compartment, between the pump and the carburetor, but sometimes it can be in the fuel line before the pump. Its usually about an inch and a half in diameter and three inches long. Its usually translucent white plastic but can be metal. If your vehicle is spluttering and misfiring irregularly it will probably be caused by defective points and condenser. Replace them and set the gap to 0.45 mm and the ignition advance to 10 degrees BTDC. The Celica was hot during its day. Regards John

How to set the floats on 1980 honda fcivic

YOU CHECK FLOAT LEVEL LOOKING AT THE SIGHT GLASS ON THE RIGHT OF THE CARBURETOR.FUEL LEVEL SHOULD ALIGN WITH THE DOT ON THE SIGHT GLASS.IF THE LEVEL IS ABOVE OR UNDER THE DOT THE CARBURETOR HAS TO BE DISASSEMBLED.TO SET FLOATS REMOVE AND INVERT THE AIR HORN UNTIL THE FLOAT ARM JUST TOUCHES THE NEEDLEVALVE OR THERE IS ABOUT 0.1 mm OR 0.004 INCH CLEARANCE BETWEEN THEM.MEASURE THE DISTANCE BETWEEN THE BOTTOM OF THE AIR HORN GASKET INSTALLED.AND THE CENTER OF THE BOTTOM OF THE FLOAT.THE DISTANCE SHOULD MEASURE 36.4 mm 1.39 - 1.47 INCH. ADJUST BY TURNING THE NEEDLE VALVE SEAT.BE CAREFUL NOT TO ALLOW THE VALVE SEAT TO PROTRUDE FROM THE SEAT ATTACHING BOSS.WHICH WOULD ALLOW THE VALVE TO FALL.IF THIS IS THE CASE BEND THE FLOAT ARM SLIGHTLY UNTIL PROPER CLEARANCE CAN BE OBTAINED.WHEN CARBURETOR IS INSTALLED CHECK FLOAT LEVEL BY LOOKING INTO THE CARBURETOR FLOAT SIGHT GLASS I MENTION IN INFORMATION ABOVE.IF YOU HAVE A 1487cc AND 1600cc CVCC MODELS WITH THE KEIHIN 3 BARREL CARBURETOR.THIS WOULD DEALERSHIP JOB.THIS TYPE IS HARD TO ADJUST.
