If it was a recall and your vehicle met the requirements for that recall contact Nissan usa and get them to issue you a credit. If the vehicle falls under a campaign or bulletin, that is only covered under basic warranty

2005 GMC SIERRA 5.3l 1500 CODES P0449/P0463 FUEL GAGE NOT WORKING AND LIGHT STAYS ON CAN IT BE THE CLUSTER OR FUELGAGE CAUSE LIGHT STAYS ON

What light stay's on ? GM had stepper motor problems 2003 to 2006 . stepper motor in side instrument cluster is what controls the gauge needle . Video's on youtube GM stepper motor problems . Do you know what evaporative emissions systems are ?
DTC P0449 Evaporative Emission (EVAP) vent Solenoid Control Circuit
A battery positive voltage is supplied to the evaporative emission (EVAP) canister vent solenoid valve. The control module grounds the EVAP canister vent solenoid valve control circuit to close the valve by means of an internal switch called a driver. The scan tool displays the commanded state of the EVAP canister vent solenoid valve as ON or OFF. The control module monitors the status of the driver. If the control module detects an incorrect voltage for the commanded state of the driver, this DTC sets.

DTC P0463 Fuel Level Sensor 1 Circuit High Voltage
The fuel level sensor changes resistance in response to fuel level. The powertrain control module (PCM) monitors the signal circuit of the fuel level sensor in order to determine the fuel level. When the fuel tank is full, the sensor resistance is low and the PCM senses a low signal voltage. When the fuel tank is empty, the sensor resistance is high and the PCM senses a high signal voltage. The PCM uses the signal circuit of the fuel level sensor in order to calculate the percentage of remaining fuel in the tank. The PCM sends the fuel level percentage via the class 2 serial data circuit to the instrument cluster in order to control the fuel gage. The fuel level information is also used for misfire and evaporative emission (EVAP) diagnostics.
With this code stored would suspect sending unit in the fuel tank or a wiring problem . Your best bet mite be to have a qualified repair shop check it out .

2006 Chevy Colorado Truck. Gas tank filled and fuel gauge indicator dropped to 1/4 full, when truck is idling fuel gauge drops to empty and low fuel light comes on. Suggestions? Thank you.

Check and or test fuel gauge sending unit and the gauge . Videos on youtube showing how to . Also i would have the vehicle checked for DTC's - diagnostic trouble codes . You may want to think about taking to a qualified repair shop .

Fuel Gage
The instrument panel cluster (IPC) displays the fuel level as determined by the engine control module (ECM). The IPC receives a serial data message from the BCM indicating the fuel level percent. The fuel gage defaults to empty if:
• The ECM detects a malfunction in the fuel level sensor circuit.
• The IPC detects a loss of serial data communications with the BCM.
• The BCM detects a loss of serial data communications with the ECM.

DTC P0461
The fuel level sender changes resistance based on fuel level. The powertrain control module (PCM) monitors the signal circuit of the fuel level sender in order to determine fuel level. When the fuel tank is full, the sender resistance is low and the PCM senses a low signal voltage. When the fuel tank is empty, the sender resistance is high and the PCM senses a high signal voltage. The PCM uses the signal circuit of the fuel level sender in order to calculate the total remaining fuel percent in the tank. The PCM sends the fuel level percent via the class 2 serial data circuit to the instrument cluster in order to control the fuel gage. The fuel level information is also used for misfire and evaporative emission (EVAP) diagnostics.

Have code 0463 fuel levelcircut input high what do I look for

There is no module under the dash on your vehicle .
P0463 - Fuel Level Sensor A Circuit High Description: The powertrain control module (PCM) monitors the fuel level input (FLI) circuit for electrical failure. The test fails when the signal moves above the maximum allowable calibrated parameter for a specified fuel fill percentage in the fuel tank. Possible Causes:
  • Fuel pump (FP) module concern
  • Incorrectly installed fuel gauge
  • Damaged instrument cluster
  • FLI shorted to VPWR
  • CASE GND circuit open
  • Overfilled fuel tank
  • Damaged fuel gauge
Diagnostic Aids: See the diagnostic aids for DTC P0460. Application Key On Engine Off Key On Engine Running Continuous Memory Ranger GO to Pinpoint Test HX . All others Refer to the Workshop Manual Section 413-01, Instrument Cluster for fuel level indicator diagnosis.
You start by taking to Dealer or someother qualified repair shop .
Instrument Cluster Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Index DTC Description Source Action B1202 Fuel Sender Circuit Open Instrument Cluster Go To Pinpoint Test B . B1204 Fuel Sender Circuit Short to Ground Instrument Cluster Go To Pinpoint Test B .

I have a 2005 nissan frontier. Code came back P0463. The gas gauge does not budge. Is there a recall for this? The engine light is on.

A p0463 is a fuel level circuit trouble code. This code usually indicates that there is a problem with your sending unit which is located in your gas tank. As you probably already know this kind of repair is not much fun because the fuel tank must be removed in order to preform the repair. As far as I am aware there is not currently a recall on this part. I hope this helps you out.

Check here for this generic DTC P0463.htm
The light is telling you there is a problem (gas gauge not functioning or what is causing the malfunction)Pull the codes to fix the problem instead of clearing the check engine light.

Hope helps (remember rated and comment this).

P0463 Fuel Level Sensor A Circuit High Input

Just because the code states it's a sensor, does not mean the actual part is defective. The code could be set off by something else in the circuit or wiring. I would have a good repair shop look at this before making any repairs or purchasing any parts.
