It's in the power distribution center (fuse box) under the hood.

Testimonial: "thank you, we have looked there, but the problem is still there, jeep will crank up, and run for about 10 minutes and then it just shuts off, will not start again for several hours. not sure what the problem is, could it be the crank shaft sensor, or wiring to the crank shaft sensor?"

we solved the problem, turns out it was the crank shaft sensor, when it starts going out, if will make you think a thousand and one things are going out at the same time, my brother, replaced this sensor, cost was 50.00 for the sensor, and everything went back to normal, jeep is cranking up perfectly, and running great, my boyfriend gave it a full tune up with what all he fixed on it for me, but the main problem was the crank shaft sensor, so if you are having a thousand problems at one time, not running right, spitting and sputting, shut down, replace this sensor, it solved a world of problems in my jeep. thanks so much for the help on here. i appreciate it very much.....

SOURCE: 1993 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE LAREDO- TRUCK WONT

OK...I have a 93 outside...one diagram I have shows an ignition module next to coil...but there is none on mine, (4.0 engine)
Two items to check are crank sensor and cam sensor inside distributor. Test procedure can be found in just about any manual including haynes.
You will need a decent volt/ohm meter to do testing. You can also check codes by turning ignition switch on/off three times, leaving it on the third time. Check engine will flash code #'s (ex: one flash, pause two flashes= the number twelve.then followed by a longer pause then another set of flashes etc.)

SOURCE: how do you change the fuel filter in a 97 jeep

It is located under the drivers side of the vehicle, towards the rear. Follow the metal tubing to the rear, and you will see a small canister. That is the filter. You just detatch it and install new. BEFORE you do, buy a new one and note how it is installed. Verry easy. BEWARE! gas will run out of BOTH ends of the tubing as you remove it and out of the filter. They are directional. You have to put it in a certain way. It will be marked with an arrow.

SOURCE: Where is the starter relay

That relay is in the power distribution center near the battery. Inside box cover should be labeled.
Relay is the same as all others except for the one that serves the A/c system so generally you can swap it to test.

sounds like a fuel supply problem-change the fuel filter and run some injector cleaner through it-it also could be a bad fuel pump-Denny
