I would check the fuel lines themselves and make sure there is no blockage. If not you might want to check your fuel injectors and see if they need to be replaced. also make sure you didnt install fuel filter backwards.

SOURCE: 98 gmc jimmy loses power to a stop

the fuel pump could actually be malfunctioning. and the reason that you are able to restart and drive again is because when you turn the key on it is allowing the fuel pump to pressureize your system. but while the fuel pump is continuasly running it is loosing the fuel pressure. this is common on the cheap fuel pumps. i am not sure about were you got the fuel pump from but in all of my experiances with this problem i find that the fuel pumps have been boughten at a napa store.
i hope this helps you out.
and you could attach a fuel pressure gauge on to the fuel rail and start the car and watch the pressure to see if it is droping.

Why does my 97 jeep Cherokee after starting cuts off while I'm driving n if I'm stopped n it stalls it takes awhile before I'm able to start again

I would do a fuel pressure test first. Attach the fuel pressure gauge to the fuel fail and see if the engine has enough pressure when it dies. If it does then you will need a scanner to see which sensors are causing the problem.

My truck starts then after warming up when i put it in gear it stales out and want start, ecept when i haold throttle to the floor and then acts like it is flooding

george, 1st did you replace the fuel filter , take it off and shake it and dump it out into a bowl to see whats going on in your fuel tank, then a pressure fuel test would be nice, and then a spark test.. could be coil or the tfi on the distributor .

I have a 1996 Plymouth Breeze... That won't start,

Hi, this sounds like a bad fuel pump. I would have the fuel pressure checked. Sometimes Autozone will let you borrow a fuel pressure gauge to check your fuel pressure. Just unscrew the cover from the pressure port on the fuel rail and screw on the pressure gauge. Put a rag over your hand while screwing it on to avoid getting fuel sprayed around. Lay the gauge in a safe place and start the car. Read the gauge, record the reading, turn the car off and remove the gauge. If the pressure is less than 35 psi, you need a new fuel pump. Please let me know if you have questions, and thanks for using FixYa.

When i go get gas and i try to start my car it acts like it dont wanna start. Then when it do it acts like it dont want to catch speed.

Have you ever had the fuel filter replaced? also have a fuel pressure test done on your car, you could either have a fuel pump or pressure regulater problem..
Hope this helps! Good Luck!

Keeps cutting out and dies than takes awhile to start mainly on hot days

If fuel filter hasn't been changed lately, I'd try that, as well as get a fuel pressure test done on it when warmed up to point where it normally would start to act up. Not unusual for fuel pumps to start losing pressure when warmed up /hot .

My 2002 LS is hard to start after it sit awhile I change the fuel filter and the spark plugs and the coils on each plug but it still hard to start could it be my fuel pump is losing pressure when it sit...

it is very possible and i can tell you a way to help you see if that is the issue. after your car has sit a while (as long as it usually takes before it acts up) jump in the vehicle and turn the key to the postion just before the vehicle begins to turn over when all the dash lights come on. when the key is put in this position the fuel pump runs for a few seconds and then stops until vehicle is cranked, allow the pump to run for 5 seconds then turn the key back off. then return the key to the "run" postion i mentioned before and wait a few seconds then try to start it. if it fires right up you have allowed the vehicle to build fuel pressure before you started it, indicating you have a fuel pressure issue and you are most likely looking at a weak fuel pump.

1998 Chevy tahoe Hard to start when cold

Hello, yes the check valve is in the fuel pump assembly. The check valve is leaking and the pump will burn out soon. Unfortunately the aftermarket fuel pumps can be very unreliable. A good portion of problems we see on this site are from people who replace the pump sometimes twice and it still doesn't work.
