It starts but won't rev up properly - Navara Nissan Cars & Trucks

Most likely due to a dirty/ faulty idle air control valve. If it is all gummy inside, the valve can’t open or close properly to maintain idle. This is usually mounted on the intake manifold near, or directly on the throttle plate area. Be advised that if you replace it, the first time you start it after replacing the engine may rev up to around 4,000 rpm until the computer kicks in to bring the valve closed, usually takes about 10 seconds.

Have you checked fuel pump pressure or changed fuel filter?

u may need ur ecu reset also have a comprestion test done on it it may have a broke piston ring

The "won't rev" part sounds like a preventative so you won't destroy the engine from cold start-up. The sluggish part sounds like bad fuel or spark plugs. Where do you buy your fuel and what octane is it? and have you Changed your plugs?

sounds like it's running in closed loop. O2 sensor, MAP sensor, or MAF sensor...sensor issues

Disconnect the front cat and leave it off then start the engine and see if it will rev good if it does then the other cats are plugged if it doesnt rev good check the ignition wiring for proper firing order i have encountered vehicles with two wires out of order and made the cat glow red so make sure they are in the proper firing order let me know how this turns out thanks.

Throttle position sensor may not be working properly see if they replacedit where you had motor done.

Have the computer scanned for trouble codes. You need those codes to find out what's shutting the engine off.

remove the aircleaner intake hose and, check the intake air control flap for free movement
