Common problem on these is that fuel pump ck valve is going bad entire pump needs replaced and yes it's inside the fuel tank so if not 100% experienced with dealing with fuel tanks hire an expert remember gas is explosive and it only takes a little spark to set it off

Truck would not start had a obd code 340 changed cps started good for 2 wks then it showed a 340 code would not start.

When you get OBD Codes-- you do not change parts

You use the codes & trouble charts-- to component test--
the system-- that set the fault code,to find a problem

If you found no problem, or no tested & failed part, why
change it?

Without factory service & diagnostic manuals & professional
scan tool software & wiring diagrams, your at the mercy of
a repair shop, because you do not have the info or knowledge
needed, to work on a vehicle

My 1992 dodge dakota truck will crank but not start

The basics, make sure battery has a full charge. If it cranks good but won't start, have a helper crank it while you check for spark at the spark plugs. If spark everywhere, use a gage and check proper fuel pressure. Also check fuel injector pulse. Any applicable trouble codes? Your obd1, you should be able to check some codes, yourself.
You can try cycling the key on and off several times before you crank it, when problem is ongoing, if that helps, I think it's a fuel issue.

Trouble starting. Has to crank for awhile and try several times before it starts. It just started all of a sudden.

May need fuel filter, plugs, cap and rotor, fuel injector(s) flushed, even a clogged air cleaner will cause the trouble, ECT....
hope this is some help?

Anti theft security systems are known for shutting down engines in GMs. You may not know it, but your car is using one called VATS. Its that little black chip in your key. If you see a light on the dash that says "security" when you are having trouble, then this is your problem and this link will help you,

I would be more suspicious of the fuel system. Have you changed the filters lately? Do you have a 6.2 or a 6.5?

2004 Trailblazer: Sometimes dies while driving then won't start unless it sits awhile

first, there is no trouble code for the ignition switch that would show, exspecially if it is just a sparatic happening, i suggest getting the ignition replaced, you will get new keys and every thing with the new ignition set, this is the more likely cause of the problem.
