Question about GMC Cars & Trucks

1 Answer

When running down the road after the truck warms up it will at times start hitching and after a bit will stall and sometimes start right back up sometimes not I had a problem with stalling at start up when it was cold but a new fuel shut valve solved that problem supposedly the fuel driver with cooler is new according to the previous owner I`m hoping a new crankshaft position sensor will solve the problem any ideas?

Yes the cps does tell ecm when to fire injectors the thing to know is right after all this bucking and stuff starts what is the fuel pressure on the injector rail ???? (caution hi pressure) this would tell you what direction to go in (low to no fuel pressure ,means go back to fuel system parts) normal pressure means go forward to fuel delivery systems

yes it can but you may have a coolant temp sensor acting up which causes the computer to open the injectors to much which can also cause this 02 sensor code. when it stalls do u have spark and fuel pressure.

Quite possible you have a bad ignition coil. As coil heats up it breaks down and will not return to normal till it cools down. Check for spark the next time this happens. If spark is weak or not there, it warrants testing or replacement.

Can't quess at something like that

The vehicle, as with any issues, needs
about 20 minutes of your time and explanation

Then you go for a road test with a mechanic

No road test, don't leave it and hope for the best

Your only problem friend, is the temperature sending unit/sensor. Upon cold start, this sensor wil tell the computer to go into cold start mode putting a bit more fuel in and raising the idle a bit to keep it running when cold without using the throttle. Replace that sensor and your good to go. Makes sense, right?
