1994 Honda civic losing oil pressure after warm up.... already replaced the head gasket oil pump rod bearings thermostat what could be the problem.

How do you know u have low oil pressure? What pressure are you getting? Hve you tried changing your oil filter?

wow. a lot of bad information on this site. Refer to a manual for the proper torque sequence. The civic I believe is a two step torque procedure. First 22 ft lbs, than 53 ft lbs.

could be time for head gaskets
make sure the old gasket from the old filter came off the block sometimes they come off old filter and stick this causes a leak due to improper seal.

Bearings are pressed into the hubs...much easier, faster and economical (if you don't have a press) to replace the complete bearing/hub assembly, no pressing is needed, since bearings are already pressed into the new hubs. Cost..aprox, 60 buxs each.
Here are the steps for the rear replacement...
Loosen the lug nuts on a rear wheel. 2) Chock the wheels and jack the rear of the car on the side with the lug nuts that you just loosened. 3) Remove the wheel by removing the lug nuts. 4) Pry open the dust cap covering the center of the axle/spindle. A small screwdriver tapped into the space between the hub and dust cap will work well for this. 5) With the dust cap now removed, use a thin center punch to straighten the little dent in the rim of the spindle nut so that you will be able to turn it freely in the next step. 6) Use a 32mm socket and a large breaker-bar to loosen the spindle nut. Unscrew the nut all the way and place it in a clean, safe area. 7) You should now be able to slide the hub/bearing assembly from the shaft. 8) Installation is the reverse of removal. Use plenty of high-temperature wheel bearing grease on all surfaces before you mount the replacement hub assembly.

IMPORTANT: Torque the spindle nut to 134 ft/lbs....(per manual specs)

When reinstalling the dust caps, tap them gently into place to avoid denting them...Install wheels, jack her down and pat yourself on the back...job complete.

98 honda civic new oil pump cant get enough pressure


I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but you may have damaged the crankshaft. If you did not gauge the crank journal where the rod was, the journal may be worn enough for the bearing to be loose and letting oil pressure escape there.
Or there could be metal particles in the engine and now in the oil pump screen which would block oil from entering the pump.

SOUND LIKE THERMOSTAT STICKING CLOSE.REPLACE THERMOSTAT AND RADIATOR PRESSURE CAP.ADD 50 /50 MIXTURE ANTIFREEZE AND WATER TO THE COOLANT SYSTEM.CHECK TO MAKE SURE WATER PUMP NOT LEAKING IF SO WATER PUMP NEED REPLACING. My heater blowing cool air want blow warm or hot air


check top and bottom hose for heat if the top hose hot and bottom hose cold the thermostats not opening,or you may have a leak from a hose or water pump, maybe only a small leak but that would cause the system to lose pressure and lose heat from your heater at worst the head gasket may have blown

My 94 honda civic crankshaft snaped off because someone spotwelded the bolt on the pully and the pully fell off due to the crankshaft breaking how do i replace the crankshaft


Motor has to come out and be disassembled. Pull engine, drop oil pan, undo main bearing cap, rod bearings, undo connecting rods and slide crank out. Unless you have tools (and lots of them including engine hoist, you ought to have a reputable shop do the work.

Was performed? if you had it done, you already know what the cost was ? right? The cost depends on what it takes to make it right, Head work, gaskets, oil, coolant, thermostat, misc parts. maybe $1000 , plus timing belt, plus what made the head gasket bad in the first place? overheated?

1996 chevy corsica,2.2 oil pressure DROP when hot????


dont run it anymore!!!
check oil is reaching the rockers & that there are no blocked feeed holes !
the pump may have been fitted too loose or the gaket is not sealing creating a pressure drop!
it may have some of the old bearing material enter the gallery,s & or the pump!

There are several reasons. The oil viscosity can make a difference and if the oil is contaminated with fuel. Wear in the oil pump and all of your bearings starting with the main crankshaft bearings and the connecting rod bearings. The wrong or bad oil filter.
When cold oil flows it plugs leaking bearings and oil gears. When the oil warms, the wear in the bearings (gaps) can't hold back the thin oil and the pressure drops. If the bearings are replaced before the crank and cam are damaged, the pressure will be maintained.

Loosing oil pressure after car is warm, thicker oil is not helping


Your problem unfortunately is bearing related. When any oil is cold (regardless of rating) it is heavier than hot. Therefore, cold, with marginal engine crankshaft bearings, you have less bleed off around the bearing faces. Once warmed up, the oil is thinner and prone to more bleed off, lowering pressure. Once pressure is low enough you will begin to hear lifter noise, later, bearing knock. If in the early stages of failure, replacing engine bearings is an option provided that only rod bearings are worn (can be generally done in car. If mains are involved, engine needs to be removed. Oil pump should be replaced during this repair...changing oil pump without repairing the bearings will not fix the problem.
