What year, make, model? What is the problem you are having? Was the check engine light on before you attempted repairs? It could be any number of things, need more info.

Hello, I got the silent shaft, timed with the cam, crank and oil pump, thank you for the help with comments. now that it is runnin, it runs rougher then before i replaced the water pump and timing belts...

The only way to tell if you have a ring or valve problem is to do the compression test as it the best place to start . Once you have eliminated the compression from the equation then you can concentrate on why the cylinder is getting more fuel than the others. I would be checking for vacuum leaks for the rough running as an incorrect fuel / air ratio will cause missing. We cannot fix everything but we endeavour to point you in the right direction so that you can fix it.

Spark plug wiring from distributor cap to spark plugs on a 95 honda civic dx 1.5 liter 16 valve sohc

If you look at the distributor cap from the wires side carefully, you would find either a line mark on one of the outer side of four holes (where the spark plug wires are inserted) or the numbers printed on the top of distributor cap (1,3,4,2). Fix one end of the longest high tension plug wire into number 1 hole or the one marked with a line mark on the distributor cap and the other end on spark plug number 1 (the number 1 plug is toward the pulleys and the belts side, then No 2, No 3 and No 4). While standing in front of right wheel you will see the distributor cap in front of you. The rotor moves clock wise. After you fix the 1st cord, next comes number 3 plug wire. Insert one end of the cord into the next to 1 on the right hand side and press the other side of the cord on spark plug number 3. Next to 3 is the cord number 4 and the last one is number 2.

Got misfire code 1998 blazer what do i fix

Try spark plugs and spark plug wires. Unless you just changed them. Possibly distributer cap and rotor if that doesn't fix it. To really fix it right you should probably pull all plug wires off one at a time and see which one is not firing. Then pull out the plug put the wire back on it and see if it is sparking while cranking it over. If you have spark, it could possibly be an injector problem. Please rate my answer.

I have a cylinder 6 misfire on my 00 cadillac deville. do u think the plugs need to ne replaced?

Usually, if you only have 1 cylinder misfiring, you have either a bad spark plug or bad spark plug wire. If you replace the cylinder 6 spark plug and still have a misfire condition, replace your spark plug wires. If replacing the plug and wires doesn't fix the problem, replace the ignition coil.

Describe your how fix my pontiac 2000 montana Problem changing spark plugs

Inspection

Inspect for the correct routing of the spark plug wires. Improper routing may cause cross-firing. Inspect each wire for any signs of cranks or splits in the wire. Inspect each plug wire boot for tearing, piercing, arcing, carbon tracking or a corroded terminal.
If there is any corrosion, carbon tracking or arcing indicated on a plug wire boot or terminal, both the plug wire and component it was connected to should be replaced.

Removal & Installation

3.5L Engine

  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions Section.
  2. Remove the left side spark plug wires from the spark plugs.
  3. Remove the left side plug wires from the retaining clips.
  4. Rotate the engine for access as follows:
    1. Set the parking brake.
    2. Shift the transaxle into neutral.
    3. Remove the engine mount strut bolts. Swing the engine mount struts aside.
    4. Install the Engine Tilt Strap J-41131.
    5. Pull on the engine in order to rotate the engine forward.
    6. Tighten the strap.

  5. Remove the right side spark plug wires from the spark plugs.
  6. Remove the plug wires from the retaining clip.
  7. Remove the spark wires from the ignition coils.
  8. Remove the plug wire assembly from the engine.
NOTE If you are replacing the spark plug wires, the spark plug wire conduit and retaining clips should be transferred to the replacement wires.

To install:
  1. Install the right side plug wires to the ignition coils and then the spark plugs.
  2. Install the spark plug wires to the retaining clip.
  3. Rotate the engine back to the original position.
  4. Install the left side spark plug wires to the ignition coils and then to the spark plugs.
  5. Install the spark plug wires to the retaining clips.

3.9L Engine
  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions Section.
  2. Remove the intake manifold cover.
  3. Remove the left side spark plug wires as follows:
    1. Disconnect the left side spark plug wires from the spark plugs.
    2. Disconnect the left side spark plug wires from the ignition coil.
    3. Remove the left side spark plug wire clips from the intake manifold and heater inlet and outlet pipe.
    4. Remove the left side spark plug wire assembly.

  4. If removing the right side spark plug wires, the engine must be rotated for access as follows:

  5. After rotating the engine, remove the right side spark plug wires as follows:
    1. Disconnect the right side spark plug wires from the spark plugs and ignition coil.

  6. Remove the right side spark plug wire clip from the ignition coil bracket.
  7. Remove the right side spark plug wire assembly.

To install:
  1. Install the spark plug wire assembly.
  2. Install the right side spark plug wire clip at the ignition coil bracket.
  3. Connect the plug wires to the ignition coil and spark plugs.
  4. If the engine was rotated for access, return the engine to the original position.
  5. The remainder of the installation is the reverse order of removal.

My truck is a 1996 1/2ton there is gas getting to the engine and there is spark in the spark plugs we fixed the distributor cap and checked all the spark plug wires, the truck will turn over but it will...

Hmm, This sounds like a timing problem.

Best way to do this easily is that:

Take out the #1 spark plug crank/tap motor over until air comes out of spark plug hole--compression stroke(this is "TDC"---Top Dead Center)

Remove Distrubutor cap and check and see if rotor points to #1 spark plug wire on cap----if not move the #1 spark plug wire to that position on cap---then install rest of spark plug wires according to the firing order from the #1 plug wire.

Install #1 spark plug and start truck---you may have to rotate distributor a little bit to get best performance.

You need to check alot of things to isolate the problem. Start with the air cleaner. Make sure it is not filled with dirt. I would check the spark plug wires. Crank the car. Take a spray bottle filled with water. Spray some water on the spark plug wires and the ignition core wire. It should make NO sparks. Turn the car off. If it made sparks or arcs, replace spark plugs wires and coil wire. Also, make sure that it takes effort to remove the spark plug wires. I have seen spark plugs wires that come off real easy. These should be replaced. You will need to remove one spark plug wire. Only ONE. (you don't want to crisscross the wires.) Remove the spark plug. Check the condition of it. Check the gap. If bad, replace. (I put anti sieze compound on the spark plug threads. Just a little bit.) Remember to fix one spark plug at a time. (You don't want to get the spark plug wires crisscrossed.) Move to the next spark plug. If the spark plugs look alright, I would check the distributor cap and rotor button. (It requires a little patience.) If all this looks good, I would do a compression test (if you have a compression test gauge). If not, check the fuel filter. Fuel should flow thru the filter. If this is good. I would put a vacuum pump on the fuel regulator. (If my a vacuum pump is not handy, I use a piece of tube and **** on it. However, safety conscious people would not think of doing this.) There are other things to do, but it starts requiring specialized tools.
