Question about Cars & Trucks

1 Answer

I have a 1988 mitsubishi magna, i crashed into the back of another car and at the point of inpact half of my oil spilt onto the floor. the crash was not very severe but i now have a small oil leak and i can see clear water coming from the exhaust, and when i open the radiator cap the fluid starts to come out meaning their is backward pressure in the water system, the oil is of normal colour (not milky) and there are no bubbles in the radiator, i couldnt find exactly where the oil leak wa coming from but it is on the right side of the car (if your looking into the engine bay) ???

SOURCE: print cradel CRASHES!! into the right side of my printer

There is a thin, clear plastic strip that guides the carriage & stops it from slamming like that. it is broken sadly. try getting one from ebay and switching it out. We got ours for like $13 shipped

your encoder strip(a transprent strip behind the carriage) is either broken or loosed up and so it is not able to get self aligned.kindly fit the encoder properly or change the encoder if neccessary.encoders are usually very cheap.wish u luck!!

SOURCE: 7550 Cradle CRASHES!! into side of printer

I had the same problem with my 7550. I followed this shortcut and so far so good. Be real careful with the strip cleaning and don't use anything but a damp cloth. No solvents.

Can you show me how to replace the starter motor of my magna 4 cylinder year model 1988

dont know what the heck the other answers were trying to do fix
T he question was how to remove the starter motor on a 4 cyl magna 1988 mitsubishi .. that makes it a TN or first gen magna

ok TN can be either carby or an EFI setup
disconnect battery
14mm bolts two hold the starter on
undo the battery positive cable on the starter

and the ignition wire on the starter

On an EFI you have to go under the engine and undo the support bracket of the efi inlet manifold to get the starter out
underneath the car
the interim shaft is one of the bolts holding the bracket to the block
on a carby you can do it from the top
from the drivers side

How to fix the ticking/knocking noise in 97 v6 magna?

the ticking noise usually points to a lifter or lifters sticking, they bleed down when sitting for a while.
some times an oil flush might do the trick , or change the lifters?
good luck

TH Magna stalling in idle after battery replacement

Hi - what was the solution??

Ive just had exactly this problem. Got new battery today then no idle. The car starts fine and runs for abourt 1 second then instantly dies. Its fine if you keep your foot on the throttle. Unfortunately if you are going downhill as soon as you place your foot on the brake the engine dies and the steering fails - then the brakes!!!

I seem to remember having idle problems the last time I replaced the battery. but not as severe.

Any how I got home after nearly crashing with starting the engine 20 times. Then with the engine off I pressed the throttle right to the floor and released.- and then restarted. That seemed to work for some reason ??? The Idle is now 100% ok although still a bit rough. But at least does't stall.
I cant see why doing anything to the throttle pedal/cable should affect the idle to be killed.?? even if the cable snapped it should still idle.
NB about 10% of the starts the idle actually idled ok for a few minutes before failing again

Any thoughts greatfully received

I now darent go out!!

Misubishi service had no idea- said bring it in!!
