Check the rear bulbs. If they are working (brakes+lights) check the wires. For the turn signals, override the flasher relay. If they are coming on then you need to replace the relay. If not then check the left hand side clip on switch.
(or)
It mught be the bulb that needs replacing or else check the wiring to the bulb for continuity in case there is a broken or snapped bit.If you have a voltmeter then you can test the voltage reading at the point of contact..Sometimes rust builds up and a simple cleaning would solve this.Hope this helps.

if all the brake light bulbs are ok it could be the brake light switch which is normally on the brake pedal hope this helps.also check if theres a fuse for your brake lights some vehicles do.

Cruise control not working in my 2009 Silverado. It went out gradually over the past several months, pretty much worked intermittantly.

cruise control module has failed. or if your brake lights are staying on, then brake light switch has failed and not allowing cruise to engage. Have someone stand behind truck and see if brakes are working properly, if not- replace brake light switch. if fine, then swap out cruise control module under hood.... prob find one at a junk yard.

2009 Ford Escape won't shift into gear

Check to see if your brake lights are burning as the shift interlock works through the brake light circuit. Could be a simple brake light switch at the pedal or LCM Lighting Control Module relay but as new as it is I would check the brake light switch and its connection.

How to replace brake light in 2009 Nissan Sentra

  • For this car to change the brake light you have to remove the taillight assembly. It's not to hard. Follow these steps.

  1. Open the trunk.
  2. Look some plastic hook/clamps.
  3. Pop the center up with a screwdriver and then pull the entire piece out.
  4. Pull the carpet back for the tail light you are replacing.
  5. Now you will see two 10mm nuts and a wire connector.
  6. Remove the nuts, and just pull the connector away from the assembly a bit. You don't need to disconnect.
  7. Now pull your light assembly forward.
  8. Now twist the light to the left a bit and pull the light out of the assembly.
  9. Now pull the bulb strait out of it's socket.
  10. Insert new light.
  11. Reverse steps to finish the job.

  • Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa.

Regards, Tony

No brake lights check fuses no blown fuses but the center brake light work

If the center high mount brake light comes on when brake pedal is depressed, and the rear brakes don`t come on, and the fuses are not blown, then I would replace the rear bulbs.
