SOURCE: I got a camshaft position sensor malfunction code P0340.

it sounds like you have bigger problems if your car does not crank(turn over) then your timing belt could have broken and the one piston could be hitting a valve causing it to be locked up.normally when any sensor is bad car engine still cranks it just doesn't start.

What does a throttle positioning censor for an 05 ford focus look like

I suggest you google 05 ford focus throttle positioning sensor. This sensor keeps you air intake throttle at the proper position when the engine is cold and changes position when the engine has warmed up. to locate the sensor, remove the hose that comes from the air filter housing to the engine. the hose you removed was connected to the air throttle. you can manipulate the position of this throttle by having someone push the gas pedal down slowly while you watch the throttle move. notice that the gas pedal cable is connected to the mechanism that opens and closes the air throttloe. also notice that beside this mechanism, you have an electric throttle positioning sensor. Pay close attention to the existing throttle positioning sensor before you remove it if you are planning on replacing this sensor. because if you do not install the new sensor in the same degree that the old one was in, you will throw the calibration off. word of advice. buy some throttle cleaner from your local auto parts. turn the car on with the air filter to throttle body hose off and have someone push the gas pedal down slightly to keep the engine from turning off. spray the throttle body cleaner til all the black crud comes off the inside of the throttle body. this dirty crud is what was making your throttle stick and not working properly.

My idle is low on my 2001 ford focus se and it is a stick shift so my car dies when I come to a stop unless I have my foot on the gas just a bit. how can I turn up the idle? Help please.

The idle is computer controlled. It takes a reading from the crankshaft position sensor as well as the camshaft position sensor along with basic information from other sensors, processes it and sends a pulse signal to the intake air control valve (IAC). The IAC valve is positioned to allow air to bypass the throttle plate and control the idle. Once the throttle is opened the IAC is commanded on 100% until the throttle is closed. In short, a scan of the pids needs to be done to determine whether the processor is commanding the IAC on properly or if the IAC just isn't responding properly.

A scan for codes can be done but many times an IAC won't throw a code so the sensor pids really need to be performed to determine the root cause.Good luck.

1988 ford f350 diesel stalls when u let throttle off instead of ticking over if u let throttle off slowly it ticks over if u let throttle off quickly it cuts out

It sounds like your throttle position sensor TPS might be out or faulty. Check your throttle and idle sensors and se if one is bad.

I have a 2001 Ford Focus SE/S and first thing in the morning, it will not start. I try several times and still no success. I wait a little while and then try to start again and it starts. Can you help?

You may need a fuel filter replacement or a throttle position senser, get the fuel pressure tested to see which you need. Also the coolant temp. sensor may need to be replaced causing the computer to think the engine is warm when in fact it is'nt.
