the stalk should have no interference with the abs or esp set up what i would look at doing is checking your abs sensors they can go all of a flash...goodluck

Check for damaged or corroded wires on alternator. Also check connection to alternator, take off and clean. Alternator may be on it's way out. You might want to get it tested at garage or replace if problem persists.

S (Nissan Vehicle Immobilizer System-NATS) has the following immobilizer functions:  Since only NVIS (NATS) ignition keys, whose ID nos. have been registered into the ECM and IMMU of NVIS (NATS), allow the engine to run, operation of a stolen vehicle without a NVIS (NATS) registered key is prevented by NVIS (NATS). That is to say, NVIS (NATS) will immobilize the engine if someone tries to start it without the registered key of NVIS (NATS).  All of the originally supplied ignition key IDs have been NVIS (NATS) registered. If requested by the vehicle owner, a maximum of five key IDs can be registered into the NVIS (NATS) components.  The security indicator lamp blinks when the ignition switch is in "OFF" or "ACC" position. Therefore, NVIS (NATS) warns outsiders that the vehicle is equipped with the system.  When NVIS (NATS) detects trouble, the security indicator lamp lights up while ignition key is in the "ON" position.  NVIS (NATS) trouble diagnoses, system initialization and additional registration for other NVIS (NATS) ignition key IDs must be carried out using CONSULT-II hardware and CONSULT-II NVIS (NATS) software. Regarding the procedures for NVIS (NATS) initialization and NVIS (NATS) ignition key ID registration, refer to CONSULT-II OPERATION MANUAL IVIS/NVIS.  When servicing a malfunction of the NVIS (indicated by lighting up of Security Indicator Lamp) or registering another NVIS ignition key ID no., it is necessary to re-register original key identification. Therefore, be sure to receive ALL KEYS from vehicle owner. There isn't one ! This vehicle relies on serial data communication . The PCM sends an message on the data bus to the microprocessor inside the instrument cluster . The PCM controls the operation of the charging system warning indicator in the instrument cluster. The PCM is therefore responsible for turning the warning indicator off after the engine is started and illuminating it under fault conditions (when the generator is not generating the correct amount of current with the engine running). The warning indicator will also be illuminated by the PCM at key ON engine OFF, and stall conditions.
Charging System Warning Indicator
The instrument cluster receives the charging system status from the PCM over the SCP or CAN communication network. The PCM controls the charging system and the charging system warning indicator. The PCM is therefore responsible for turning the lamp off once the system is running and illuminating it under fault conditions (including stall conditions).
How to Diagnose Controller Area Network CAN Your best bet would be to take your vehicle to a qualified repair shop .

My Charging Warning System and Immobilizer indicator warning light is both on after my 2004 Kia Amanti is running and put in drive.


Was the battery unhooked recently, Alternator or battery could be faulty, you can check them with a digital meter. The Immobilizer light may go away after you adress the battry/charging fault.

2004 Chevy aveo starts then kind of putts followed by shutting off just had the converter and O2 sensor replaced. The radio and lights work great car just won't stay running once u let go of the key

The security indicator is located in the clock on the top of the instrument panel. The light emitting diode (LED) displays the immobilizer system status. The immobilizer contains the LED driver hardware for direct connection of the LED.
Vehicle Theft Deterrent (VTD) Operation
The immobilizer system design prevents vehicle theft by interrupting the engine operation. The immobilizer system prevents the vehicle from starting. The engine operating functions interrupt if the immobilizer system does not recognize the transponder identification code of the ignition key. What is causing the battery to drain?


Running the car will drain the battery it if it's not charging ! An if your charging light is on it isn't charging ! Did you check power an grounds on the alternator ? There is a single heavier wire on the back of the alternator, this should have battery voltage ! You may want to take this to a ASE certified repair shop !
Functionality
With the ignition switch in the RUN position, voltage is applied through the warning indicator I circuit 904 (LG/RD) to the voltage regulator. This turns the regulator on, allowing current to flow from battery sense A circuit 35 (OG/LB) to the generator field coil. When the engine is started, the generator begins to generate alternating current (AC) which is internally converted to direct current (DC). This current is then supplied to the vehicle's electrical system through the output (B+) terminal of the generator.
Once the generator begins generating current, a voltage signal is taken from the generator stator and fed back to the regulator S circuit 4 (WH/BK). This voltage feedback signal (typically half the battery voltage) is used to turn off the warning indicator.
With the system functioning normally, the generator output current is determined by the voltage of the A circuit 35 (OG/LB). The A circuit 35 (OG/LB) voltage is compared to a set voltage internal to the regulator, and the regulator controls the generator field current to maintain the correct generator output.
The set voltage will vary with temperature and is typically higher in cold temperatures and lower in warm temperatures. This allows for better battery recharge in the winter and reduces the chance of overcharging in the summer.
Battery Positive Output (B+) Circuit 38 (BK/OG)
The generator output is supplied through the battery positive output (B+) terminal on the back of the generator to the battery and electrical system.
I Circuit 904 (LG/RD)
The I (ignition) circuit 904 (LG/RD) is used to turn on the voltage regulator. This circuit is powered up with the ignition switch in the RUN position. This circuit is also used to turn the charging system warning indicator on if there is a fault in the charging system operation.
A Circuit 35 (OG/LB)
The A (battery sense) circuit 35 (OG/LB) is used to sense battery voltage. This voltage is used by the regulator to determine generator output. This circuit is used to supply current to the generator field (rotor). The amount of current supplied to the rotor will determine generator output.
S Circuit 4 (WH/BK)
The S (stator) circuit 4 (WH/BK) is used to feed back a voltage signal from the generator to the regulator. This voltage is used by the regulator to turn off the charging system warning indicator. The S circuit is fed back externally on external mounted regulator generators.

  1. Check the operation of the charging system warning indicator lamp (instrument cluster). Normal operation is as follows:
    • With the ignition switch OFF, the charging system warning indicator should be OFF.
    • With the ignition switch in RUN and the engine off, the charging system warning indicator light should be on.
    • With the engine running, the charging system warning indicator light should be off.
  1. Verify the battery condition. Refer to Section 414-01 .

  1. If the customer concern is verified after the initial inspection, refer to the Symptom Chart to determine which tests to carry out.
    • The charging system warning indicator is on with the engine running (the system voltage does not increase)
    • Circuitry.
    • Voltage regulator.
    • Generator.
    • GO to Pinpoint Test B .
    Your whole problem is the alternator is not charging , a couple tests with a volt meter would tell you !

One of these symbols lights momentarily to indicate that the ignition switch is locked and will need the proper transponder-equipped key to re-start. The vehicle is immobilized otherwise. Green symbols will flash when the vehicle is immobilized.

Dale, did you ever find what is happening with your immobilizer light/charging issue? I have same problem. I think I started car too fast after sticking key in ignition. I turned key extremely fast.

I have a 2001 hyundai elantra and the warning lights on the dashboard. I know what the oil light looks like and the airbags. What are the other two lights.
