SOURCE: Location of Power Steering Reservoir

As far as I remember, the reservoir is part of the pump But...If it's not there it is easy to find...there are two hoses on the leads to the steering box mounted to the frame, the other goes to the reservoir, then to the steering box.

2000 Mitsubishi gallant v6 steeringWheel is hard to turn,n wheel make a noise on Passingerside, carmoves side to side

Check the level of ATF fluid in the Power Steering reservoir.

If the car moves side to side when driving, that is more serious and needs to be checked at a garage. Could be steering linkage ball joints which are about to break or suspension ball joints about to do the same.

2000 mitsubishi eclipse coolant leak and car smoking.? My coolant reservoir has been dry for several weeks now. Stupid on my part I know, but it's the third time it has gone dry in the past three

You did not say if it is a 4 cyl or a V6, but generally the power steering pump is belt driven, and the V6 water pump is driven by the timing belt.
The pump in question could be the power steering pump. Or it could be the 4 cyl water pump.
You might be able to take a photo of it and post it here to make sure, or check an auto parts store for a visual.
As for the coolant leak, is the pump smoking, or leaking ?
You can't really see the V6 water pump without removing some parts from the side of the engine.
Do you know where the power steering system is leaking ?
Does the engine run rough after you fill up the radiator ?

Power steering pump pushing fluid back up through reservoir

Hi Terry:
Is there the remote possibility that the serpentine belt is not routed correctly?
It sounds like the pump could be rotating in the wrong direction.
Rule of thumb.....
Inside (ridges) have to fit on pulleys so that ridges fit in slots.
Outside (smooth) fit on pulleys so that ridges do not contact face of pulley.

If your power steering pump is not functioning properly, it doesn't matter how much fluid is in the reservoir, it will not work. Have the pump checked out.

My 2001 mitsubishi Gallant power steering went off while driving

Check the power steering pump. Make sure that it is working correctly. You can have it checked at autozone or kragen . That is most likely your problem is that the power steering pump has gone bad
