my dad used to say you need two things to start a motor; gas and fire. Check these and make sure they are both good. You have to go through the steps from there. Could be a fuel filter. could be bad plugs. etc. etc... Hope it helps.

SOURCE: would you say suzuki forenza 06 is a good car to buy?

They have been doing well and there problems are fewer than most. Sounds like you have a pretty good car. Have those trouble codes checked and repaired though so it does'nt cause problems down the road. Good luck.

SOURCE: Car will not start.Engine turns over but spark plugs willnot fire

I would say replace ignition coil, that might me the problem, otherwise it can be the ecu, which might have some electrical problems not allowing the car to stay running. Good luck.

2001 Grand Caravan 3.8 code says camshaft or crankshaft sensor how to tell which one it is van stumbles and cuts out from time to time and at low RPM occasionally stalls out

Crank and cam has the same power and ground wires tied together. The signal return are separate wires to the PCM. Guessing, I would say you have a bad/ broken wire at the crank sensor. The wires tend to break at the plugs. When you loose the cam sensor, the PCM goes into default mode. It will still fire the injectors. You just have lower gas mileage. When the crank sensor dies or can't be read. The engine will not start. No fire to the coil/s or plugs.

What is a control module?

cars have many , control modules, most are microcomputer based.
the PCM on the Forenza runs the engine, EFI
spark and fuel and transmission shifting.
can be lots of things,
lost spark
check all fuse first, that means test them if they look good.
second, is use a scan tool to see why it dont start..(spark dead? and why)
there is no distributor on a 06. !
but there are 4 engines, used, not posting which engine, makes help near impossible.
most cars, 06, suzuki, usa , have a single coil pack
it has 4 coils inside ,one for each cylinder.
so are all 4 coils dead? is that it?
spark leaves the coil pack it never has sparking going it to it.
the coil if fired from the PCM
the PCM fires the coil with and ignitor.
the PCM fires the igniter if the CMP and CKP sensors work.

see coil pack below?
if all 4 are dead, we scan it after fuse checks. always....

Have a '98 Chrysler Cirrus. Drove it home shut it off. Next morning would not start. No check engine light. No codes detected. Would turn over but not fire. One friend looked at it checked for spark at...

Try that rebooting, though I've never heard of that, I have doubts that it makes any difference, but try it anyway.
Most likely, the intermittent loss of the sensor is a wiring problem, like wires chaffed or partially burnt or broken. You know, like wires routed too close to exhaust or something like that. It would be a pain, but if you could test the wires with an ohmmeter to see if they are still good, it may help.

Remove negative battery terminal. unplug sensor connector and connector at the pcm. Use ohmmeter and test resistance of the two or three wires from sensor to pcm. While ohmmeter is connected, wiggle the wiring along it's path to detect any breaks. The resistance reading on a good wire will be very low, like under 1 ohm. Also check elec. connectors for loose pins or corrosion.

Need firing order for 2004 forenza 2.0.also which terminal is #1 on the coil pack

Firing order is 1342 --- Order on the Coil Pack is 4,1,2,3 -- Line the plug wires up in that order starting at one end of the coil pack, if that doesn't work, start at the other end of the coil pack with the same 4,1,2,3 order. Cyl. #1 on the engine is closest to the crankshaft pulley (and all other pulleys) -- Disregard the firing order at this point, it will only add to the confusion. Stick to the 4,1,2,3 order for lining up the plug wires

I have an 2001 GMC sonoma that will not start. The engine is getting gas, fire, air, and the compression is fine. The timing mark on crank lines up. What could be the problem.

you may want to check to see if this engine has a crankshaft position sensor, that tells the computer when to fire the distributor to the right wire. It might be the ecm itself. The best way to see if it is getting fire is to use a test light and while someone cranks the engine check the number one plug wire for fire. If there is no fire to the wire it can be a faulty ignition module in the distributor , ecm, crankshaft position sensor, bad wire bad cap bad coil. Go through process of ilimination
