Check for intake plenum leaks, upper and lower. Very common.

I don't know much about cars so how do you do that. sorry

  • mekanik84 Oct 19, 2013

You may not be able to see anything from the top. But the plenum is the big aluminum thing at the top of the engine that says 3800 or 3100 on it. Look down towards the base of that and look for any coolant dried or wet. Is a extensive job to replace those gaskets, if needs be. Hope this helps

The problem u are having is caused by the AC/heater temperature control blend door actuator motor, it is defective and must be replaced to correct this problem. In order to access to this part u will need to remove the dash.

Check to ensure fans are getting enough amperage to run at proper speed. turning your heat on removes heat form the engine and puts it into the passenger compartment. It could be possible that a sensor on the fan is not allowing the fans to spin fast enough or the fans may have a sensor which controls the speed of the fan to coincide with the heat that needs to be removed. Generally, your thermostat needle should sit just slightly below half. Do not run engine anywhere near the red zone as damage can result

Is there and, if so, where is there a bleeder valave on the cooling system? vehicle over heating after thermostat replacement, water pump replaced etc.

Check on the thermostat housing or the steel line near the thermostat housing. Does the heater blow hot air? If so you probably don't have any air in the system.

check to see if both hoses coming off firewall are hot, sounds like there is a blockage in heatercore, or actuator not switching to hot. check hoses for heat first.
