Well it was not the catalytic convertor. I am at a loss as to why the truck starts right away...revs up in nuetral and then as I am driving it the gas pedal starts to bog and I can only go about 30-35 miles per hour and thats if i dont press the gas pedal too much.

i hear you sonny if the service manager will talk to you at gm i think he will back up what i say about a intake manifold leak.the code reader will say miss fire p 107 or something like that you look in a haines book or search code on the net .whats so baffling with a intake leak is it does run great untill you get out on the road. remeber mis fire dont mean back fire in the code bank. but that dosent mean an acual back fire

Remove the Oxygen sensor nearest the engine to relieve exhaust back pressure and try it.
These beasts were also known for bad fuel pumps.
Al you can do is test.

Testimonial: "The fuel pump did go out about 3 years ago, but no problem there now. It is getting gas...its just not burining it under a load. I can go down the road, by just touching the gas pedal, but if i press too hard, then it bogs down like it is flooded."

Rough idle 95 astro van, I did a full tune up , plugs, wires, cap, rotor, air filter, and fuel filter and cleaned egr vavle.

I actually had to replace my EGR valve and the gasket. I clean the valve well and reused both. I don't think the gasket sealed well enough though. So I went ahead and got a new valve, gasket and changed them. It runs a lot smoother now.

I HAVE A 1988 GMC 5.7 V8 PU...IDLES UP & DOWN WHEN COLD...SURGES...NO POWER COLD...RUNS GOOD AFTER IT WARMS UP...NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT...TIMING CHECKS OK...PARTS ALREADY CHANGED:...COIL-PLUGS-PLUG...

Remove the vacuum lines on the bottom front of the throttle body with the engine off. Check each hose connection with a nail; small screwdriver or a small drill bit. Make sure they are not clogged. If they are clean them out carefully. If they are not clogged, then check to make sure the vacuum lines aren't obstructed. I refer to your idling up and down as hunting. Reconnect the vacuum lines and start the engine. If it idles smoothly, your found your problem. Good luck.

I have an uneven idleing problem in my 1993 plymouth-colt vista 2.4l , changed spark plugs, wires, rotor & disributer cap

MAKE SURE THE MAF plug is properly connected at the air filter housing- then check the idle air control motor assy. on the throttle body. Then remove and clean your dirty EGR valve- which is stuck open and allowing EGR at idle...which is not supposed to happen...
