SOURCE: Code P0741 for the diagnostic for Toyota Corolla

This is a torque converter clutch solenoid code internal to the transmission. the computer has detected a fault in the operation of the solenoid. It will need to be diagnosed by a trained technician and may very likely require internal trans repairs.

SOURCE: I got a code P040

P0401 OBD-II Trouble Code
Insufficient EGR Flow

What does that mean?
EGR stands for Exhaust Gas Recirculation. It is part of the vehicle emmissions system, and is used to reduce combustion temperature and pressure to control Oxides of Nitrogen. There are generally three parts to the EGR system: the EGR valve, an actuator solenoid, and a differential pressure sensor (DPF). These things work together to deliver the correct amount of recirculation based on engine temperature, load, etc. The P0401 code means that OBD detected an insufficient amount of EGR.

1995 corolla gli - engine symbol light turn on on the dash board, what's the problem?

The Check Engine Light can come on for any number of reasons when the engine's computer detects an abnormal operating condition. Frequently, it is related to a malfunction in a sensor or sensor circuit, like a O2 sensor, temperature sensor, and so on, but it could also be due to a misfire, or an emissions control problem, or another reason. On cars from 1996 and later there is a standardized connector for a scan tool (OBD-2) to hook up to the computer and identify the error code. But for 1995 and earlier it is necessary to access the computer's data link terminal under the hood and perform a diagnostic procedure to read the error code. You can find detailed instructions on how to do this on your car at www.autozone.com, or in your car's repair manual.

I have a Toyota Ceres modal 1995 however the check engine indicator doesn't go off when the car has is running what could be the problem

there are too many things that could cause the check engine light to come on oxigen sensor would be the first to cause this the ONLY way to find out is to take the car into someone who can plug into the computer and see what codes are displaying on the code reader. If you have a auto zone or a advanced auto parts store near you, you can ask them to pull the code on your car and find out whats causing this problem
