Question about Cars & Trucks
I dropped something down the injector hole, can it be retrieved without removing the head
If you have access to a shopvac you might be able to reduce the suction end down to the size of a straw either by holding it in the end with some tape and your hand or some other way. Then you might be able to suck the object out. If it is metal then you could buy a small magnet type or pen and pull it out with that. Your auto parts store should have it.

ruacowboysfa, Yes, you can do this without dropping the engine. The only problem you may have is removing and retorquing the head bolts because of the room constraints at the back of the engine compartment. Good luck with this.

SOURCE: can you remove the injectors
YEP REMOVE TOP ENGINE COVER AND DISCONNECT INJECTORS ELECTRICAL CONNECTOR,REMOVE FUEL RETURN LINE FROM INJECTOR, REMOVE FUEL INJECTOR HIGH PRESSURE LINE, REMOVE FUEL INJECTOR RETAINER AND RETAINING BOLT,THEN REMOVE FUEL INJECTOR FROM THE CYLINDER HEAD. YOU NEED A FUEL INJECTOR EXTRACTOR TOOL 9075A ON TO INJECTOR AND CYLINDER HEAD.YOU DONT HAVE TO REMOVE THE ENGINE.
