It is very likely that the thermostat is stuck closed. This will prevent the coolant from circulating through the radiator.

It is also possible that your radiator fan is not coming on.

You should be adding 50% water 50% coolant mixture. Water will actually make your engine overheat at a lower temperature.

You can find the fluid capacities in your owners manual.

It is possible that you blew the head gasket when the water pump was bad and the cooling system is being pressurized by the cylinder compression to water jacket leak.

When the vehicle is cold, start it with the radiator cap off and if it bubbles out your radiator cap, it is most likely a head gasket.

1994 Plymouth Voyager 3.3 The "Check Engine Light" comes on after driving 6 miles on open highway.

Take to local auto parts store and they will usually run codes for free and from there you can find the most likely source of the problem area.

My 1997 Plymouth grand voyager is over heating.

My 1997 Plymouth Voyager with 40,000 miles on started to overheat and air was not on. Coolant level was perfect. Car hasn't been driven in 6 months, maybe that is why.

1999 plymouth grand voyager overheats when the ac is on

when the ac is on the computer is looking at pressure in the ac system to control the cooling fan operation if the pressure is increasing the cooling fan is commanded on now if the pressure switch is bad or if the ac system is low on refrigerant it is not building pressure and the cooling fans are not going to come on.

Overheating engine

About two gallons of water/coolant total. If you have to add coolant then there must be a leak. On the expansion tank is a cold and hot level. Good luck

2000 Plymouth Voyager Overheating

The radiator cooling fan relay has most likely failed. It is underneath the air cleaner on the frame rail just behind the radiator. NO cooling fan = overheating. This is the first thing i would look at. Best way to tell is when the van gets hot see if the cooling fan is on. You will hear it running if it is coming on. It will set a code for the cooling fan relay also.
