What should the valve timing be on a 1990 daihatsu charade 1990 3 cylinder

Ignition timing should be checked and adjusted whenever spark plugs are replaced or any distributor maintenance is performed. Ignition timing at 1000 RPM or less should be as follows: on 1989 1.3L/4-79 engines, 3-7°BTDC; on 1990-92 1.3L/4-79 engines, 0-2°; on 1.6L/4-97 engines, 1-5°.

Alignment

Check for cracking in the shell, the G100 series had a problem.

The LCA can bend if subjected to abuse. You can check for too much play by raising the car and using a pinch bar to force movement.

Similarly use a bar to test for weak or sheared engine mounts.

Eng.t/plant 1.6 applause into g100 3cyl

It's doable. Some of G100 series (G100, G101, G102) had the fours fitted, so you should be able to do a cut and shut from a donor car.

The 1.6 HDE engine is pretty much the same physical dimensions as the 1.3 HCE and 1.5 HEE. The HDEG is the Detomaso version, which includes a different cam profile, higher compression and extractors.

Beware the infamous G100 chassis cracks around the front suspension, if you decide to raise the ponies..
