Coolant reservoir empty when sitting overnight

You must have a coolant leak. If there are no signs of a leak, you may have a gasket on the engine that has gone bad, and the coolant is being pushed out the exhaust system. The coolant expands when hot and cools when the engine cools. During the cooling stage the cooling system creates a suction on the coolant in the reservoir and draws enough coolant back into the system to keep it full. Apparently you are loosing enough coolant somewhere that the reservoir can not fill the system before going dry.

I used a small can of r 134a in my 2007 Ford 500 still not getting cold. What next?

Some things to check:

1. Is the compressor running?

2. Is the suction (where you added the refrigerant) line cold or
at least cool to the touch?

3. Is the system set to cooling inside the vehicle?

If you had to add refrigerant, there could be a leak somewhere. One small can of refrigerant is not enough if the system is empty. It will take around 5-6 one pound cans. However, the system should should be leak tested otherwise the newly added refrigerant will leak out.

Car goes dead when gas tank is half empty what is the problem

Faulty fuel pump. Probably internal ground in pump. When tank is full, the gas will absorb the heat the pump generates keeping the pump nice and cool. Tank half empty, the pump is now exposed, with its long nose stuck still deeply into the bottom of your 1/2 empty tank. Now with fuel pump exposed, it gets hot, the gaskets and things inside the pump swell up, and the pump fails to turn. Your car quits untill the pump cools off, (if your lucky) can be only a second between cool and hot/non function.

Mini Cooper temperature gauge goes to red zone when idle

check coolant level could be too low allowing air in the cooling system causing air pocket in engine around the engine coolant sensor.coolant sensor needs to be in hot coolant so it will cause the cooling fan to come on at a set temperature.make sure coolant correct level and the coolant level in the cooling overflow jug should be at full cold mark.the cooling overflow jug should never be empty,if you see empty cooling overflow jug air got in the cooling system so make sure when engine cold every time raise hood make sure cooling overflow jug coolant level at full cold mark.if jug stay empty you have cooling leak.so replace radiator cap,if coolant level all good,i would replace the engine coolant temperature and thermostat.when your car come to a long stop or driving along long line of slow moving traffic the engine coolant blower motor should running if not have vechicle code scan for faulty coolant fan motor control module.or ecm problems.

What does the light next to the security light mean on a 2001saturn SL\r\nIt is square with a t on top with wavy lines at the bottom inside the box

Hello: That light means either the cooling system is low on coolant and/or a failed coolant sensor. Check the surge tank under the hood if it is empty, fill it to the level indicated. If low it could mean the cooling system has a leak. If tank is full then possibly you have a failed sensor.

I have a 1995 honda accord 209,000 miles,my car leaks antifreeze out of the muffler whenever i refill it,but i dont see any white smoke or have had any problems with it overheating..i recently changed the...

There is NO way water can get inside the muffler / exhaust pipe without evaporating, and causing a white smoke at the tailpipe. Additionally, in order to get inside, you would get major power and idling problems. I would look at the cooling circuits near the firewall ( cooling hoses to the internal heater, for example) because one of them must be dripping water externally onto the exhaust pipe or muffler. If the car never overheats, there is a possibility that you are simply overfilling the cooling water bottle. The full mark for accord bottles, is waaay down, it looks as if the bottle was empty. As soon as the engine heats up, it will send excess water overboard.

I ran out of gas and refueled now car won't start. Any suggestions?

when u run the gas tank empty it severly overheats the electric fuel pump inside the gas tank, this tiny pump depends solely on the fuel flowing around and through it to lubricate and cool it so it won't overheat, you have seized up the fuel pump, u can let it cool for an hour and make sure the pump is totaly immersed in fuel before retrying that means u must put in at least 5 gallons of gas.

You need the cooling system topped off and the system pressure tested to find the leak and repair it then everything should be ok.

I WAS RUNNING ON EMPTY PARKED THE CAR AND THE NEXT MORNING CAR DIDNT WANT TO START

the fuel pump is seized up, the pump is inside the gas tank and uses the fuel to cool it, if you run low on gas often or this is a high mileage car the pump becomes inoperable. you access the pump from under the spare tire, there is a plate there you remove, replace the pump.
