Question about Cars & Trucks

1 Answer

I have a 2005 f150 and runs well except between 45 and 55 mph. The truck begins to hesitate and then smoothes out. Not sure if the engine needs a tune up or if I have to have the transmission checked out. Please help. Thanx.

Is it a diesel truck.?
if yes check your glooing plugs.
keep the plug at same hole where you screw it out.
the tip of the plug is positif and side is negatif.
take a good wire and clip it on the side.
hold the tip (where the connection wire sits) to the possitif,
from the batterie.and the wire on the negatif from the batt.
good plug start to glow from top stift and glows then further,
to the tip .bad plug start to glow in the middle.
be carefull these test the plug gets very hot.
and burn your skin to the bone if you touch it.
do the test only few seconds.
els you can check all filters.
see if airfiletr case dont have stand for winter and summer.

Your TCU (transmission Control Unit) is bad. it is located behind the passenger side kick panel. you can purchase it on ebay for about 79.00 with exchange.

SOURCE: Hesitation / missing / car shakes

The problem is most likely break down of the spark plug wires. The demands on the spark during acceleration and load destroy the wires as they age. I would start there. Hope this helps.

I have a 1995 ford f150 with a 6 cylinder engine. the truck idles high at all times. It hesitates when you stomp the accelarater and it has no power. It will not run at all when its above 90 degrees...

Check your Idle air control valve or EGR valve, unplug egr valve and if it idles down and smooths out then replace it, if nothing changes I would consider replacing the IAC.

F150 5.4 hesitates

if it is not running on all cylinders you need to check the coil packs and if your battery is not good this will not produce the electrcal output to really check you car out

If the vacuum lines are deteriorated and cracked, they will make the engine run rough, uneven, and hesitant. All you have to do is take the lines off one at a time (so you don't mix them up) and change them out with new lines.

Transmission problem

car out of cruise control flutters or runs rough from 45 mph to 55 mph and once over 55 mph runs smooth. I notice from 45 to 55 the rpm guage moves with flutter or rough running engine. when i put in cruise control it smooths out.
