Need advice on getting a tune up for my 2008 Nissan Armada. I have over 107K miles and was wondering if it would be better to go to the dealership vs. local certified mechanic?

Please be more specific here a tune up means stripping and modifying the engine to increase power output ,If you mean a service on the entire vehicle as per the book so to speak then a local recomended mechanic is your better bet ask around to see if you can be pointed in the right direction here.THEIR ARE A LOT OF UNTRAINED COWBOYS IN THE MOTOR GAME iam afraid to say and some of the worst employers of these are the main dealers ,remember the old saying by confucious ,"IF YOU ONLY PAY PEANUTS THEN ONLY EXPECT TO EMPLOY MONKEYS" having been in the motor game 45yrs i have meet many and a few dedicated tradesman but very few work for dealers

The dealership will totally destroy you ..go to your parts store have them test your engines codes so you can save a heap of cash as well as your vehicle ,,,a simple tune up with all new wires is needed

SOURCE: is there a diagram for replacing headlight bulbs

I don't have any diagrams sorry.
But you can do the following.

Turn your wheels so the front wheel wells are exposed, remove a couple of screws attaching the wheel-well panels to the fenders, peel back the panes and the back of the headlights are exposed. You might be able to access the high beams from the engine compartment if you have a small hand.

SOURCE: my overhead console is coming

The overhead console on our 2008 Nissan Armada w/entertainment system is also coming off (at the back, where it's secured by clips and not by screws like the rest of the console). Dealer told me today that it cannot be repaired and that I must replace the entire console, including the DVD screen and rear controls. I'm raising the BS flag! We purchased the Security Plus Gold Preferred extended warranty (we have yet to find a component that we have needed replaced that has been covered, so beware. Surprisingly, it covers things like the oil dipstick, and we all know that those go bad all of the time). Going to have a chat with Nissan tomorrow. More to follow...

My 2008 nissan armada has a rattle noise coming from the front brake area during driving over uneven road surfaces.

Hi,
Better check the spring and spacer for the disc pad that might have lost or didn't reinstall properly when you replace it with a new pad.
That usually the sound when those small parts are missing.
Hope that helps you out.

Thanks for asking FixYa!

There is a recall on those fans. I would check with your closet Nissan dealership to see if you have an open recall on your truck.

The gas you use shouldn't change after any miles. Keep it to what the factory recommends. You'll be wasting your money if you put premium and it only needs regular.

A full gas tank only last less than 400 miles on highway on my armada

Most cars are designed to travel 300 miles on a tank of gas. If you think your fuel consumption is too high, may be time for an air filter, tune up, and check the tires for the proper inflation.
