All you need to do is Remove the POSATIVE cable from the battery for about 25 seconds then reconnect it. This will reset the computer and everything else!

SOURCE: replace thermostat in 2000 durango

If you look down on the radiator, on the left side, there is a larrge hose coming out of the radiator toward the engine. Where the hose ends there is a housing with 2 bolts. The Thermostat is found under that. Remove the 2 bolts an replace the thermostat. Unles your arms are very long and thin, you will probably need to do this from under the car.
Perfect time to flush/fill all coolant. Check and replace any needed hoses/clamps.

SOURCE: How to activate 4wd hi/low on 2000 dodge durango slt

You need to get under the suv, there is a linkage under there that has 2 grommets. They dry rot and then fall out. Once that has happened the 2 pins that hold it together give way and the link is broken. If all you need are those 4 parts its $12 at the dealer. If you also need the adjustable metal linkage that joins the shifter to the transfer case you will have to order that too, sometimes it falls off when one end gets loose. It will swing around and hit the drive shaft and get yanked off. If you need more detail let me know.

This Seems Indicative Of a Poor Connection AT The CLUSTER Or A Junction Connecter Close to the Cluster. This is Assuming you Have Ruled OUT ALL ABS COMPONENTS, LOOK at These VERY CLOSLY Because of the Small Volts These Wires Carry , the SMALLEST DEFECT WILL Cause this Type of Symptom that you have given. Please try all of the Above, I feel Confedint that athis is where your Problem Is.

My speedometer and cruise control stopped working on my 2000 dodge durango I replaced engine speed sensor and that did not fix problem. Any suggestions?

What engine speed sensor ? Location ? The vehicle speed sensor signal comes from the anti-lock brake control module , to the PCM -engine control module . Speed Information to the instrument cluster comes from the PCM on the CCD serial data bus , Suggest you google Chrysler CCD data bus . Are any warning lights lit on the instrument cluster ? ABS , Check engine etc... Sorry but I suggest you take your vehicle to a qualified repair shop that has the diagnostic tools to find the problem . http://www.cnblogs.com/shangdawei/p/3570499.html

Dodge Durango Won't Start, Turns over, NO BUS on instrument cluster

1998 - 1999 Dodge Durango 3.9L
2000 - 2001 Dodge Durango 4.7L
1998 - 2000 Dodge Durango 5.2L
1998 - 2001 Dodge Durango 5.9L

The PCM has 3 connectors plugged into it. Try wiggling each connector and listen for a clicking sound, starting with the connector furthest from the front of the Durango, and the middle connector with a white top.

If this doesn't help, replace your PCM. The PCM (power control module) can get hot, causing a short or broken circuit inside the module. Replacing the module will fix the problem. If your truck dies randomly when it's hot outside, but will start back up after it cools down, this is probably the problem.

Why won't my gauges in my dash all of a sudden

This is a common problem amongst Chrysler vehicles in your year range. It's an easy fix, once you take the instrument cluster outside the car and unplug the wiring harness, dead center in the back of the cluster. Tool needed: 25 watt soldering iron. (Do not use a high powered electrician's soldering gun as it will ruin the circuit board.) Take the circuit card off the instrument cluster and flip it over. Note the location of the connector on the other side and touch the soldering iron carefully to each solder joint to re-solder them using the existing solder already on them. Plug it back in and viola, it's good to go!

Which fue # shuts off the interior lights on my 2004 dodge durango

Fuse #19 in the left kick panel fuse block. But this fuse powers a lot of other components including the instrument cluster. I recommend removing the light bulbs instead.

Vech keeps looseing charge over night? batt, alt and starter all test good. so wht cld it be? it is a 2005 dodge durango

If you have replaced or had the battery checked out and if you have had the charging system checked out and still the battery is drained overnight, I probably have the answer. I had this same problem for a couple years and AAA was ready to cancel me. Mine turned out to be a bad instrument cluster. This item is on recall by Dodge and if it is the instrument cluster, repair and replacement is covered on the recall. You can go the Dodge/Chrysler website and check you vin against the recall list. They had to replace mine twice before the problem was resolved. Your local dealership should be able to help you with this. I had to take it to a well known facility which specialized in auto electrical problems. They traced it to the instrument cluster right away and I used their report when I took it to the dealership for the second time. BUT IT IS A RECALL ITEM AND REPLACEMENT, IF BAD IS COVERED!!! (just a little good news if this is the problem).

No Bus Error

All the modules are connected together to communicate with each other via the PCI bus. It is possible that one of the modules is pulling the bus down.Since the vehicle won't start it could be any one of the modules. It will be a process of elimination to find the faulty one by disconnecting them one at a time. Here are a few, powertrain control module (the one you replaced) Instrument cluster, overhead console, anti-lock brakes, airbag. Since the cluster unplugged wont read anymore, just try to start the vehicle to see if that was the one. Otherwise see if the odometer message of "no bus" goes away after each one is unplugged.
