Where is the transmission control module located on 2005 Mazda 6

Safe mode limits engine performance, and does not effect transmission, especially not by eliminating first and second.
The main way to get out of safe mode, is to remove the battery long enough for the whole system to discharge and reinitialize, so by changing the battery, you likely already did this.
More likely is why the battery died? If you have a wire rubbed through, that could be shorting everything? Have you done a voltage output check on charging system? But other than linkage switches, the transmission control module is inside the trans oil pan, where all the solenoids are. You can drop the pan to ensure all the connections are solid and jump the solenoids to ensure they are not burned out.

What model year transmission is compatible with a 2005 Mazda 3 sport

From Wikipedia.. "The Mazda3 or Mazda 3 (known as the Mazda Axela in Japan) is a compact car manufactured in Japan by the Mazda Motor Corporation. It was introduced in 2003 as a 2004 model, replacing the Familia/323/Proteg?. A performance-oriented version of the Mazda3 is marketed as the Mazdaspeed3 in North America, Mazdaspeed Axela in Japan and the Mazda3 MPS in Europe.
A second generation Mazda3 for the 2010 model year was unveiled in late 2008, with the sedan premiering at the Los Angeles Auto Show and the hatchback at the Bologna Auto Show. For the 2012 model year, Mazda began offering the Mazda3 with their newly developed SkyActiv technology, including a more rigid body, a new direct injection engine, and a new 6-speed transmission.[6]
The current third generation was introduced in mid-2013 as a 2014 model." My guess is the transmission from 2004 to 2009 mike be cross compatible. I would go to Autozone and ask or call the parts department at department at a local Madza dealer.

The starter in my 92 sonoma will not come out. after removing the two bolts holding it in place there is not enough clearence for it to come out of its housing

Depending on the motor there will be a sheet metal cover in between the motor and the trans. This is usually held in place by four bolts that thread into the transmission. There is also usually a couple of support braces that run from the engine to two of those bolts, again depending on the motor. Those braces and the sheet metal cover will need to be removed. The starter will then drop out.

Hey, I have Mazda 6 2005 2.3L GG 120K , Car jerks when i change the gea from 3 to 4 during accelration and also during uphill. I have taken to NRMA REPAIR center who advised me to change the transmission...

While normally I would never take a car to the dealer if I can at all help it, it sounds like a good idea in this case.

One reason is that they will have more experience with the symptoms of a bad motor mount.
But changing a motor mount should never cost more than something near $100. They just are not that hard to do or expensive to make.

Automatic transmissions are much harder to diagnose, so I would do the mount first, and see if everything is ok.
But you should already be on your second oil change in the transmission already, so you should probably do it if you have not done so.
But a transmission oil change should not be more than $75.
It is even easier then a motor mount, and all it requires is a gasket, filter, and oil.
It is good to do because you can see if there is any wear, debris, burnt oil, etc., when you drop the pan.

But you could also just take it to some other independent, for a 2nd opinion.
These are not hard tasks.

But $900 seems about 3 times too much.
And they are not actually guaranteeing anything.
They said it is not sure if it will be repaired after that.
And they are right, because it could be the transmission is going bad, and will cost $900 to fix.
But the odds of that are low.
It is probably not going bad yet.

My 2005 Mazda 6 has fallen apart in the last 6 months. The air conditioner has broken 3 times. They replaced the catalytic converter (still under warranty). Have other people had serious problems after...

I have had terrible problems. I have 109,000 miles on it and last month the transmission went, the alternator also went and when it did it sent an electric shock through my car that fried all of my lights, sensors, event the motor in the door. The shock fried my radio and now my air doesn't work.

Mazda kept it for 3 weeks telling me they did not have a loaner car for me and wanted me to pay $50 a day to rent a car. They were terribly slow.

I will never buy another Mazda.
