Typically the Neutral Safety Switches are located with the gear selector, either in the column or the floor.

Why do I have to wiggle it around in neutral to get it to start again?

sounds like the neutral safety switch. i have replaced a few on ford trucks. after a while they tend to wear out or get out of adjustment. but if you wiggle it around and it starts. my guess is the neutral safety switch. you didn't specify what kind of vehicle you have but there are a lot of videos on you tube that may show you how to do this. good luck

Check your connections at the shifter and neutral safety switch. If you wiggle the shifter and it starts, the problem is close to the base of the shifter or the wiring harness to the transmission from the shifter. Look for loose connections or damaged wiring.

If you are saying it won't crank sometimes, you could try it in neutral instead of park. The neutral safety switch may be going bad.
Or you could check for voltage on the small wire going to the starter solenoid, it comes from that switch.

Sometimes often enough when in park the starter wont start. Have to wiggle the floor gearf shifter then it may start. It will start in nuetral. Need Help

you need to either replace the neutral safety switch, or it may just be out of adjustment, let me know what kind of truck ( year, make, model ) and i can look up the adjustment and location of the switch.

1995 chevy lumina sometimes won't start

when this happens try to start it in neutral. the trans. has a safety switch that will not allow the car to start in anything, but park and neutral. sometimes the shift lever gets a little out of line with the gear indicator. also try firmly shifting into and out of park a few times. this may flip the switch. good luck

try checking you Park/Neutral safety switch. if that's faulty it will do exactly what you are saying and while you're at it test the ignition switch but i'm leaning towards the safety switch
