Question about Pontiac Aztek

1 Answer

My 2001 Pontiac Aztec stutters when shifting from on gear to another. This does not happen all the time it happens after I'm driving for about 30 mins or so and when my car warms up. My temperature gauge stays at mid point but I notices it has gone up and gotten hotter. I don't know if that plays a part in anything or not. There was just a new transmission put in about a month ago. I have had fuel filter and fuel pump replaced another with many other pricey repairs. Please help me

SOURCE: Possible problems associated with replacing the fuel pump.

no to all of your questions the fuel tank (pump is in tank)is in a completely different location. I would question weather your mechanic is trust worthy, this may have been a "make work" deal for your mechanic. however it is possible that it's merely a coincidence.

If you replaced the fuel pump then there is a possibility that during the job then some debris from the tank and/or filter got loose somewhere into the fuel system and is in your lines. It could even be a very tiny speck of gasket material, old or new.

My Pontiac Aztec is sometimes not shifting up smoothly. When this happens I've noticed the speedometer is not working. It stays at zero, then bounces from 0 to 30 or more. Tonight it died while driving...

Sounds like the speed sensor in the transmission is faulty. Does the engine light come on? If it is , it would indicate the speed sensor code. Check the connection for looseness. Good Luck.

2005 Pontiac Aztec has an intermittant engine stall while driveing on the highway. Engine will restart again within 20 to 30 seconds before vehicle comes to a stop. Battery light is only lamp that...

Next time this happens, reach up and try to turn the key like you are trying to start. It shouldn't engauge starter while in gear so don't worry about that. If it starts up when you do this, you most likely have a weak switch and the weight of your keys swinging may me shutting you down.
