You might need a new ECT - engine coolant temperature sensor. If it's not reading the correct coolant temperature it's not going to tell the fan to turn on when it should.
Is the check engine light illuminated? I'd bet the ECT needs replacement.

you can close it by pulling the door panel and removing the electric motor that raises the window, then lift the window closed and reinstall the motor, but the motor is most likely defective so if u go to all that hassle just replace the motor.

Try to reset the tailgate by removing the no.7 (7.5 amp) fuse in the underdash fuse box. Open and close the tailgate manually, reinstall the fuse, and try the open tailgate button. If it will not open or close using the remote and all other functions of the rmote work then it is likely to be the remote receiver inside the door behind the door liner. If it will not open or close using the handles the coupler may not be fastened that goes to the motor behind the right side liner. Or the motor may be bad. If you turn the doors off using the switch at the drivers left side and they still won't open or close check to see if the door is still on the rollers and not jammed up. The power motor may have gone bad or it may need to have the cable tension adjusted.

Maybe a little late here but i have a fix for this after turning down my dealers generous offer of a 750gbp fix i did some extensive googling and found this.... With your ignition on open the tailgate using the catch inside then turn off ignition and disconnect the battery for a minute. Reconect the battery and turn on ignition and let the warning lights go through their cycle. With the ignition still on shut the tailgate and hey Presto should be as good as new.
