First of all is the check engine light on? if so it could be alot of things as in bad Oxygen sensors to a bad throttle position sensor or a dirty idle air control valve or your car has a air fuel mixture sensor on it most liklely that could be the problem to or it could be something simple like a dirty throttle plate or dirty fuel injectors or maybe its time for a tune up

SOURCE: toyota previa petrol smell

I had similar problem some months ago it turned out to be the pipe under wheel arch (corroded) where cap filler is.
my problem was solved by replacing pipe which is connected to rubber pipe fixed to tank and filler hose from filler cap.
tools neede llong large cross head screwdriver, small socket set ( 12 mm , 13mm , 14mm) 150 mm extension bar. to remove bracket bolts
possibly some new pipe clips as others may be corroded.
you will need to jack up car and remove wheel to gain access.
took me about 1 hr, somebody with competent DIY skills should be able to deal in couple of hrs
check with dealer as there are two different pipes on different models one is longer.
my one was the one with the piggybacked overflow pipe.
small hands are advantage

SOURCE: 1994 toyota camry wont't turn over. Got gas it cound be fuel filter or fuel filter fuse.

hi there, try changing out your starter, and see if that works, usually if it wont turn over that is the cause.....if that does not solve it, it could be a eletrical problem...the battery cables might be loose in there conection to the battery or there housing spot......hope this helps...if nothing works you'll need to take it to a shop.... shia

1994 Toyota Camry XLE replaced fuel pump & filter car starts & idles but boggs out and cuts off when pressing gas pedal?

have you pulled codes or checked the fuel pressure? It could be a host of things, like a clogged air filter restricting the flow of air into the engine, a bad air meter, clogged injectors, etc. Engine codes will help you start narrowing things down.

Has the engine air filter ever been changed?

chech all vacume and intake hoses. A bad hase wont always have a hole in it. Rub your hand on the hoses and check to see if it rubs off on your hand not dirt but pices of the hode itself.

1990 Camry runs roughly when accelerating, especially up hills...

This could be a problem with plugs, wires, distributors, fuel filter or fuel injectors. Try changing the plugs and wires first, then the fuel filter. If you are changing the plugs and wires, make sue you use anti seizing compound and dielectric grease.

Not getting fire or fuel when hot

Try checking your air filter first. Then check your engine ground connection. Change your fuel filter. If it's none of those, it could be a faulty idle control .

My 89 camry

Use a good fuel injector cleaner every 15k and change your air filter as needed. If it looks clean it is. The most you should be changing the AF is approx. 15 to 20k. Unless you live in a dust bowl or have the only diesel camry I know of. I recommend the use of nitrogen in the tires for improved tire wear and fuel economy.
