The easiest way is to actually remove the instrument cluster. You would have to have teenie tiny hands to get to the bad bulb from underneath/behind/and up to the bulb.
It is really not that difficult to remove the dash. If you go to your library you can take a look at a Chilton's or Haynes manual...or better yet, just invest in one from a parts store and it will tell you how to do it step by step.

If you hear it knocking no bearing replacement is going to fix that long term. Its best to pull it, the crank shaft will have to be turned or polished and or replaced, weather its a rod or a maine, and posibly line boared if its a maine thats knocking. Do it right and pull it.

comes out through the bottom with the tranny att. if you cannot get the car high enough, take off the compleate front clip and slide it out the front, and yess lots of screws will snap and break. there is 2 or more hidden bolts on the cross member just be patient and have lots of kitty litter... lol
