if you turn the key twice it should unlock and lock all doors until you can figure out the remote/lock switch problem.sounds like a door lock actuator problem on drivers door.I would start there.

SOURCE: driver side door does not lock or open with remote

does it work by the switch inside the car? if it doesn't, it is probably a bad door lock actuator inside the driver door. if it does work w/ the switch, then you may have a problem w/ the security module

SOURCE: My driver door on Lexus RX330 won't open

first thing you should do is try to have a shop open the door with a beak in kit. if they can't get the door open this way the door trim panel will have to be pryed off. it is difficult to do with the door closed but it can be done. the trim pane will probably be ruined during removal. once the trim panel is removed the door latch can be released from the inside.

You need to get a door lock actuator for the drivers door. That might only be sold at the dealership but it's worth a try to see if your local auto parts store can get one for you. Otherwise, just buy the part at the dealership and do the work yourself. Here is a picture of the door lock actuator so you have an idea of the part you will be looking for.

The first thing you will want to do is remove the door panel. Make sure that when you do this, that your window is up. If the window is down it will block your access to the actuator.

  1. Remove the trim piece around the interior door handle and disconnect the electrical connector. This is held on by some pressure clips so you can get a small flathead screwdriver to pop this out.
  2. Remove the window switch panel. Again with the small flathead screwdriver to release the clips holding it in. Disconnect the electrical connector.
  3. There will be a screw behind the door handle trim piece you just removed and under the window switch panel. These hold the door panel on. Remove these screws.
  4. There should be a third screw that holds the door panel on in the pocket of the armrest under the little felt pad. Remove this screw.
  5. The perimeter of the door panel is being retained still by some more pressure clips. Use your flathead screwdriver or another wide flat tool. Get your tool behind the door panel and pop the panel toward you in a quick motion to release the clips. Start at the bottom of the door panel and move to the sides.
  6. Once the bottom and the sides of the door panel have been released, push up on the door panel towards the window to release the top of the panel from the door.
  7. Remove any other electrical connectors from your door light or seat memory controls.

Now that you have your door panel off, you need to access the door lock actuator.
  1. Remove the dust cover from the door panel. You want to do this very carefully so that you can re-use it easily when you are done. An easy way to do this is to use a small flat razor blade. Pull gently around the perimeter of the dust cover and cut the adhesive with the razor blade. This will allow you to re-use the adhesive when you re-install the cover. Once you have the dust cover removed, be careful to lay it flat in a place where it won't get disturbed. If you allow it to get folded up, it will stick to itself and create a headache putting it back on.
  2. Locate the door lock actuator. You should find it at the top of the door panel. From the interior door handle, you should be able to trace the lock rod from the lock, to the back of the door, closer to the latch where you will find the actuator at the other side of the lock rod.
  3. Disconnect the electrical connector.
  4. Remove the nuts that hold the actuator in place.
  5. Remove the lock rod from the actuator side only.
  6. Re-install everything in the reverse order.

Let me know if I can be of any more assistance.
Good Luck!

~Brandon

If the key turns in the lock, but does nothing, then the linkage has become disconnected or broken. The key is mechanical to the lock and the lock has a electrical switch to operate the central locking unit. Could be a simple broken clip from the lock barrel. Hope this helps

Programming keyless remote

2003-04 Mazda 6 REMOTE PROGRAMMING

Step 1: Open drivers door and leave open.

Step 2: Lock and unlock the driver’s door using the power door lock switch on the door.

Step 3: Insert key into the ignition.

Step 4: Turn key to on position and return to off position. (IMPORTANT - use ON position NOT ACC position). Do this 3 times within 10 seconds. Leave key in the ignition.

Step 5: Open and close the driver’s door 3 times. (Door should be left open after this step).

Step 6: ECU should respond by locking and unlocking the doors.

Step 7: Press any button on remote #1 twice. ECU responds by locking and unlocking the car doors.

Step 8: Press any button on remote #2 (etc.) twice. Each time the ECU will respond by locking & unlocking the doors.

Step 9: Remove the key from the ignition and the ECU will respond a final time with a series of door locks and unlocks. You're done!

Good Luck.
