SOURCE: I also started getting a warning light today 'powertrain malfunction' on my 2002 Jaguar x-type

You might have to change the shift cable. I had the problem last year (2007), worked perfectly after that......:)

SOURCE: how to replace wiper blades on 2001 jaguar s-type

I change mine with the bonnet open - this just allows enough room to lift the blades enough to push the clips loose to release the blade carriers.

hope this helps - good luck.

SOURCE: Car locking up and wont move back or forward while accelorating

Sorry but there's too much going on here for anything other than guesses, and at the irresponsibly selfish speed you drive at any faulty advice could well be fatal.

Something may have locked up in your transmission (or possibly braking system), and you've then used a bit of guesswork and uneducated brute force to overcome the problem for now. Without any further symptoms this has now become impossible to diagnose remotely and an accurate diagnosis requires a thorough examination of the vehicle anyway.

The question you now need to ask yourself is whether you're prepared to risk the fault occurring again at speed. If that's when it next happens then at best you'll do some very expensive damage but it's most likely to also cause a total loss of control with potential fatalities.

For the safety of any poor unfortunates who pull out in front of you in future and for yourself stop wasting time here and get the vehicle looked at by either Toyota or a 4x4 specialist garage.

I know this isn't the solution you were looking for and you may not like the way I've phrased it, but it is the only correct answer to your question.

Windshield wiper motor not workingproperly

It could be that the nuts used to hold the wiper to the motor "shaft" are not tightened all the way. It is common that the wipers will move on high speed but not low/normal speed when this is the case. Remove the little cap at the base of the wiper and tighten the nut.

Jaguar xk8 problems

loosen the nut at the bottom of the blades so that the wiper motor will work without moving the blades. cycle the wipers and allow the motor to come to the rest position. Fit the blades and tension the nut. Pull the arms off the windscreen and cycle the wiper motor to run until it stops put the wipers back on the screen and see where they are. IF parked properly then OK but if any where then replace the wiper motor as the sequencing gear inside is out of sync with the wiper action.

Our 2002 jaguar x type had a burst pipe we had it replaced by a mechanic but the engine warning light still remains on, the mechanic said it has to be switched via computer, how is this done?

Stop by any good parts store or shop and have them do an OBII scan (fault scan) this will pull codes and they can reset the light also. Most will do it FREE

2002 jaguar x-type windshield wipers rest in the middle of the windshield

i try this before, you can try this, you need to remove the negative battery for 5minutes and return, and try to use the wiper again, if still does not work, check your fuse/relay for the wiper.

Check the fuse and if it's ok, then the windshield wiper motor may be bad.
