bank 1 will be whichever side cylinder 1 of your engine is and bank 2 will be the opposite side. It's named bank 1 and bank 2 so that no matter how the engine is laid out, bank 1 is always on the same side as cylinder 1. I cannot say whether the right hand or the left hand one will be bank 1 as I do not know where your cylinder 1 is. The garage should know

first the quest, this is common for nissan, replace the knock sensor, this sensor is located under the intake manifold rear of engine, some models you can sneak sensor out without removing the intake, this will take care of that car. now the camry, im guessing this is a 4 cylinder engine, replace the air fuel sensor (oxygen sensor) thats on the exhaust manifold. this will solve that problem. hope this helped.

code p0171 refers to system too lean bank 1===causes ---intake /exhaust leak---AIR system--MAF/VAF sensor---fuel pressure /pump---injector/s ---HO2S sensor
if it runs ok then replace the HO2S sensor in bank 1 (exhaust before the cat converter at the firewall side of the engine)

I have 99 bmw 323i.i ran it hot and got prob fixed and now the eml and a triangle with circle around it comes on dash and car has no power.feels like it has a rev limiter.wats wrong with my car


have throttle body checked also the MDK throttle motor,
make sure that the dealer has followed service bulletin 12 07 99 for procedure to replace the MDK throttle motor

standing in front of the vehicle looking at the engine bank 1 sensor 2 is the sensor after the cat converter on the bank on your left
bank one is the left cat ---bank 2 is the right cat. Sensor 1 is the one before the cat and sensor 2 is the one after the cat on either side

code p0733 refers to gear 3 -incorrect ration===causes---wiring---TR sensor/switch--shift solenoids---transmission mechanical fault
code p0420 refers to catalytic converter system -bank 1---efficiency below threshold===causes--cat converter--wiring--HO2s 2
code po430 refers to cat converter system bank 2--efficiency below threshold===causes--cat converter--wiring ---HO2s 2
code p0328 refers to knock sensor (KS) 1 bank 1--high input===causes--wiring short to positive--KS incorrectly tightened--KS---ECM

basically replace the cat converters as they are blocking the exhaust system and preventing your over 45mph problem
replace the TR sensor/ switch as you have not mentioned a transmission problem
Rectify the problem with the KS as it controls the air/fuel mixture setting which contributes to the car getting hot.

Just got there codes for my 2000 323I P1250 P1188 P1189 P0304 P0173 P0170 It pass the test,anyone have any ideas ???


P0304 = #4 cylinder misfires
P0170 = Fuel Trim, Bank-1
P0173 = Fuel Trim, Bank-2
P1250 = this is invalid code for BMW
P1188 = Fuel control, bank-1, sensor-1 (pre-cat sensor)
P1189 = Fuel control, bank-2, sensor-1 (pre-cat sensor)
Vacuum leaks and/or sensor defective for the issues of the codes.
This error codes really need parts to replace. But you have to replace the thermostat first. Then clear the codes and see if any reappears,then replace defective part/s

I have a p1137 code fuel air metering on a 2002 chevy cavalier where is this located


Air/fuel metering usually referes to O2 sensors and/or MAF sensor. In this case it referes to heated O2 sensor bank #1 snsr2. This Can be found on the exhaust system on the rear of the cat or after the Cat. Conv.

P1155 code for a toyota rav4 2002, engine lite came , took to parts store, put on diognostic machine , this code came up. wat does it mean?


Bank 2 sensor 1 Air fuel sensor heater circuit. This sensor is NOT an O2 sensor, though it operates like one and in the same location(in exhaust stream). Basically the PCM detected that the heater circuit was drawing excessive amperage or no amperage. Usually it's a bad a/f sensor and replacing it will fix it, however, it doesn't rule out the possibility of damaged wiring or an open in the power or ground circuit, or a short in the power or ground circuit.

How many oxygen sensors are on a 1999 chevy blazer?i found 3 one on each manifold before the cat and one after the cat. but the guys at the local auto parts store said that there are 4 total. am i missing...


if it has 2 cats then it has four sensors. i cat 3 sensors. i dought they all went bad. o2 sensor malfunction will not cause a cat efficiency belw threshold code. i would guess a baf cat on bank one.but if air pump was bad it might be poluted with carbon.try driving it hard for a bit. mabee it will clean up
